Terrific experience for Richo bowling the last over, regardless of result.

Two last over losses in a few days.
Batting let us down again.
Only borgas and OB got us to a half decent score.
Some ordinary fielding by SA, too many misfields and overthrows.
No light at end of tunnel

My two bobs....Klinger worked hard to get SA above the Duck-Lewis line in the middle overs because he thought the rain was coming. His bowlers bowled economically at this stage without taking wickets. When it didnt rain, WA had wickets in hand and controlled the chase.

I think there is light at the end of the tunnel. Call me an optimist. Richardson looks good. Haberfield has improved, he needed to. Smith has shown he can make runs (but when those 60's turn to 100's it will be better). Has Borgas turned a corner, perhaps.

North batted exceptionally well. Well controlled with no real rash shots. He looks a completely different bat to the one that couldnt time the ball in the big bash. If, the big if, he gets his shit together, at 31 could he slip back into number 6 in the future. Id prefer him to Smith.

My North thing is why (if it happened) he made it into the Test side again.

If his recall was at the expense of Smith, I wouldn't be happy...

If he continues to score heavily, and Punter retires, then he MAY take the resultant batting spot.

HOWEVER, SMITHY is selected as a Lower Order bat who also bowls LEGGIES, which is what the selector dummies want in the side...

Picking a SPECIALIST BATSMAN who bowls occasionally, is not a like for like, and it shows a different direction, and dropping SMITHY for NUTH means that we are changing a tactic...

It also goes away from the youthful regeneration we are going for.

My thoughts only...
