So GWS and NT Thunder are in it, big deal!
NT season runs over summer so it wouldn't really suit clubs from their league anyway.
Putting GWS in it just gives them something extra to do in their preparation for 2012.
They'll probably be knocked out early anyway.
Do you see top seeded tennis players complain when lesser players are given wildcard entries to major tournaments?

If the Cup fails to run in 2012 then I'm sure the cynics will have a field day, but for now we can sit back and see how is pans out.

Confused?

Me too.

Sorry, "I find he VFL" should be "I find the VFL".
Damn phone!
Hope that clears up the confusion. :)

You argue like Royal City although not as funny.

Just to get this straight you're equating the AFL with a traditional style of football, that the VFL and AFL comps both play in a similar way and the SANFL play a modern brand of ugly football?

Just plain wacky. Got any 911 conspiracies you want to share with us? :D

Not wacky or confusing, the VFL plays long direct to contests attacking footy, the AFL is different. I just said I prefer the interpretations in the AFL to the SANFL mind you if it did come to styles of footy I'd rate the SANFL last out of those 3.
I can only assume you're getting the AFL and VFL mixed up? Or interpretations and styles of footy mixed up?
No confusion intended and just my opinion. :)

If you want some 911 conspiracies then go no further than some of the naysayers for the Foxtels Cups posts! ;)

PS Sorry, I wasn't funny but I wasn't trying to be!

Well this answers some of the questions regarding sponsorship on the guernsey. Nort Adelaide have announced their "allocated" guernsey for the foxtel cup. pictured here: http://www.nafc.com.au/news/p3300.aspx

Personally i think it actually looks better and "cleaner" than the normal version. the mistral logo right across the middle in the normal one makes the v look like an upside down A. this one with all the logos smaller and up higher makes it look a lot better IMO. (i realise the normal one is bigger for $$$ reasons though)

And from the looks of it it is still branded as a SANFL guernsey too!!

Honestly, is that now the 27th reason for not participating?

It's ridiculous. Every new excuse that comes out apparently is THE most important reason.

So that means all the talk about risking the SANFL flag was hot air even though so many Centrals fans are talking (well, were talking) that up as THE reason? Now it's just about rejecting the AFL in principle? Are these people you spoke to the same as the CEO you overheard?

That's not my experience of VFL footy and I've seen plenty of it in the last few years. And it'd be surprising if it was like that, given about two-thirds of the players running around in that comp are AFL-listed, with coaches attached to AFL clubs.

I couldn't agree more with Wedgie. And I remember when Jars was coaching us and we played attractive footy, a lot of the other clubs, but Glenelg in particular would flood our forward line, have a completely open forward line themselves and invariably beat us. Then Healy came along and flooded as well, and we know that our results didn't improve but the spectacle got much, much worse.

Sponsor's name on it.

Well, what a surprise.

I'll look forward to the apologies ;)

North have really accepted this whole concept. First club that I seen with info on their website & 1st club to come out with a strip for the competition.

Interesting to see what West come up with (not sure if they clash with anyone)

Interesting to see what Port & Swan Districts are "allowed" to wear.
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

Good luck getting an apology, it may be stretching things a bit! i will say though you were right all along, the major sponsor is still on the guernsey.

i think however some of the other posters concerns may have been proven, not disproved with this news. the sponsors logo is smaller (however like i said i actually think it looks good) and the back of guernsey sponsor isnt there at all (replaced with foxtel) so there could still be concerns from clubs over these alterations.

for some clubs it may have been critical, for others (possibly with differently worded sponsorship contracts) it wasnt. i wouldnt know and am just speculating. either way i am glad north is participating.
