Sturt's Alternate Strip for 2011

Postby Barto » Mon Feb 14, 2011 11:05 pm

This will be Sturt's alternate strip for season 2011:

In other words, Sturt aren't bothering this year and going the traditional route and having one guernsey as we don't exactly clash with anyone anyway. I believe only the shorts will be different colours for home and away.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Now if they just made that light blue a shade darker we'd have the perfect guernsey.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

The SFC takes up a spot where an advert could go :)

Seriously though good to see the end of that white V monstrosity and white socks. Even CDFC saw the error of their ways (thank you Neil Kerley) and got rid of the white socks.
Would like to see dark blue shorts the pale blue shorts look a bit insipid.

Good call. Always been a fan of the dark blue shorts.

I have a feeling they may be going down this path as the only 'alternate strip' involves the shorts. Hoping it's dark blue at home and white away.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Thought it might have been pink !
The Sturt jumper is by far the worst in the League. That powder blue is effeminate and the laughing stock of the competition.
Make the bloody thing DARK blue with light blue highlight and look like men not netballers !

Good to see the white V neck go from the guernsey.

It looked absolutely terrible. The change is good. :D

Completely agree Southee, the "white" (which is only in our uniform to identify numbers) should never get a 'guernsey' in our jumper nor socks.

Looks like something a Smurf would wear, worse than even Freo's guernsey!! The laughing stock of ALL football codes in Australia (if not world-wide)!!!

Carlton are the Blues but their uniform looks like a football jumper. Why can't Sturt do something similar.
I played footy with the Magill Royals who were double blue .....DARK blue jumper with light blue trim and had a gold eagle ( like the old West Torrens ) on the chest to represent speed. Looked fantastic !

Well said JAS. Gentlemen, you can say whatever you like about the Sturt strip,
but as someone who has actually played Rugby Union, let me say this.
I love Aussie Rules as the most physically demanding and skillful game
ever devised on this planet. However, the upper body strength, toughness
and combat required to play Rubgy Union and League at the highest levels
means that these men, in general, in a fight, could utterly destroy most
Australian Rules players 2 to one on any given day !!!
Different games and different strokes, for different folks ladies ... guaranteed !!!

Disagreed Gadj, especially after watching another gruelling match of Rugby Union tonight.

What I can't work out is how Sturts guernseys look so terrible yet the Warratahs's jersey looks so great with similar colours. :?
