More importantly, what do the other clubs think about having to play on the ovals now that they'll be even smaller??

Think you'll find Ironbank's oval will be extended by next year allowing for 50m arcs and it's certainly wide enough to cope with coming in an extra metre.

can you tell me exactly how they'll be extending the oval, there isn't enough space at either end of the ground for that too happen, unless the build a multi-story carpark where everyone can park there cars and then they can extend the oval that way  But other than that I can think of any possible way it will be happening.

From what I've been told it'll be happening. I think you'll find there's quite a bit of space down the golf course end. It's a little decieving until you actually get down there. There's certainly no creeks of earth walls either end like Bridgy.

yes i'm well aware that there are no creeks or earth walls because I have been there many times to watch many games, but if they make the oval bigger won't it take some of what little parking spots that are avaliable? Also they should think about updating the away changerooms and warm-up facilities aswell. But if it is possible, I'm all for it.

Not too many people park directly behind the goals so it won't effect too much. The ground is plenty wide enough so it can be narrowed slightly. I'm told some scrub can be removed legally creating more parks so parking conditions won't change they may even improve somewhat. U can't park behind Blackwoods, Hahndorfs, Uraidlas and Onkas goals at one end. I know there's a bit more space around the ground though.

Overheard this in the Crafers Pub. Bridgey are considering putting in an application to go to Country Div this year 2011 season.
Apparently numbers are down a little & the side is mainly youngsters. If that's true then the HFL should seriously consider it, before they have another Callington on their hands. I'd say the boys from Birdwood would be pretty happy if it does happen.

wow, if this is true its a massive thing because didn't a few years ago they reject going back to the country league? Also wouldn't it be a bit late to put in a application to go back to country considering they have done the draw and its only 2 months until the start of the season?

1st post zz and you start with a bang like this! I know that seniors numbers are down, they have only 1 A grade recruit and there up and coming U17's aren't up to scratch yet. However, I can not see them requesting to drop down in any circumstances!

my guess would be because Owen has a big problems in Callington and the whole Torrens Valley Situation.

And the Bridgy situation. Apparantly they have requested to go to Country Div., and with Birdwood never wanting to leave Central, a straight swap is being proposed. Highly doubt this will eventuate.

As the AGM has already happened and there was no discussion of the change (Bridgy to Country/Birdwood to Central) find it hard to believe that it could now happen.

News came out of the AGM. Wouldn't be hard to change Draw, just change Birdwood to Bridgey.

Spearhead you were the first to mention the Bridgy situation. If it wasnt discussed at the AGM, where did you hear it from?

BB - Good point but maybe you Blackwood boys should think about upgrading your vistitor facilities. At least you can fit a whole team in Ironbank's!

you do make a good point, the visitor changerooms would be bigger if it weren't for the gym equipment that is stored at one end of the rooms because there isnt a spare room in the buidling to store the equipment, But I think there are plans to build some new buildings for a gym and storage facilities.
I was more making a point of that the changerooms are a rusty-shed out the back and that there are no-warmup facilities not the overall size of the chagerooms.

In regards to the hypothetical bridgey birdwood swap. Would birdwood want to go up now. Would they have prepared or recruited differently if they knew they were going to be in central. They may have recruited one or two players less to save a bit of money, therefore if they were to go up may finish bottom anyway. Any thoughts gimp?
