Sorry Wedgie but it had pretty much fizzled out by the time I got to read it. It ruined a great meeting, there was a real buzz around the place, the atmosphere was electric.

I get it, you think of words related to electricity and then put it in a sentence or two about two horses dying a nasty death.

God, that's brilliant, never been thought of before.

Funny as

Takes someone who's a witty and comical genius to put a comedic spin into sad story....

Pity no one on this thread fits that bill....

Maybe my interpretation of funny is different to some others, but I really haven't seen much to laugh about on this. Two animals die a painful death and it becomes comedy, apparently.

I wonder if someone thought about setting human deaths to music, if that would also become a hit, or would that be different because it is about people and not animals.

You don't think Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is funny either.

Easy to sum this up.

Some people think 2 horses being electrocuted isn't a laughing matter, some do.

Its a dreadful set of circumstances and I fail to see how any one in their right mind could take it lighlty. Then again you either like animals or you dont

It is often our way to cope with tragedy with humour, but there is a fine line and some comments were IMO verging on tasteless. The horses with steel shoes were the ones worst affected, the ones with aluminium shoes survived.Thankfully the people were ok. How tragic to see two beautiful young horses rear-up before staggering, screaming and falling to the ground lifeless. One jockey was quoted as saying it was the most horrendous and surreal five minutes of his life. No-one knew what was going on.
Those poor animals- an awful way to die
Personally, I don't think there's intelligent life on other planets. Why should other planets be any different from this one?

I blame the owners for putting traditional horse shoes on them, wouldn't happen in crocs.

Crocs aren't very earthy.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Some people need to get off their high horses about this issue!
Or their electrified horses as the case may be.

It's not that clever, mate.

Anyone can do it.

Stop flogging a dead horse.

Stop nagging us about it.
