NEK A were bowled out by Para Vista A at Greenacres Reserve for 204. Pete Atkins made a ton (congratulations mate), whilst Matt Wiles took four wickets with the ball. Vistas are 0/24. Seems like a tight encounter in the battle for top spot.

At EJ Smith, Para Vista B bowled out Magill-Morialta for 64. Brenton Starke, Dave Schreiber (bowling in a hat), Ron Braakhuis, Aaron Burgess and Nick Maxted all took multiples for Para Vista. In reply Vistas are 3/166, with Ron Rathjen unbeaten on 59, Maxted unbeaten on 23. Ian Martin also made 56. Josh Diegmann bowled 21 overs straight in his chase for the bowling trophy, snaring 3/67.

We're all smiles up here at the Dragons club rooms.

sounds like a tight game for top spot, congrats to Pete on the ton

Vistas 0/24, good start, so i assume cousins didnt open the batting then? :o

Cheap shot Power, I'm sure your a gun bat and open in the A's ....or are you just another hero that plays in the lower grades?
Probably another one of those blokes that wont be playing in the finals. Enjoy the footy season mate, i'm sure your club again will struggle to make the 8 like your cricket team struggles to make the 4

my glory days are over, only fill in every now and again...in the lower grades that is, who are playing finals! :)
sorry dont play footy at all, not that athletic

u21/23 match played today between us and adelaide suburban.

Borgas won the toss and put suburban in and we started well, not taking any early wickets but keeping the scoring down. Pidge bowled some good areas and beat the bat a few times but just couldnt buy a wicket. Stancl the pick of the bowlers with a 3fa. Suburban making 190, and woulda been four more than that except for am exceptional one handed diving catch right in front of the crowd about half a foot in front of a cone. Even the suburban boys were clapping that one....let Futuris tell ya all about it.

Chasing the runs we made 7/150, Borgas 33, Stancl 39, A.Rolling 39, and Jarrod McCleod 20 not out....just needed someone to crack on with a 60+ innings but all in all a fair first up effort. Hopefully we can get our captain bollywood up and running for the next match against Turf.

Special mention to OB, what a man, does everything and then some. He should get a standing ovation for what he does. And Typo scoring all day gets the auto thumbs up award. :-bd

Fair assessment auto. ;) Although Stancl got 4-fa - had 4/16 off 6 before the skipper replaced him with Pidge, who leaked runs in his 2nd spell..  Good bunch of talented, young lads who gelled well in their first match and enjoyed playing together. And too right mate, OB is a machine! Organised the drinks, made lunch himself, organised training, picked the side and served as taxi service for the McLeod boys. 8)

Special mention to Burgo for scoring. Thanks mate! Even Tige was blown away by the tidiness of your scorebook!

Perhaps El' Futuris can talk us through this 2nd ball he faced..?? ;)

Thanks Auto, I was enjoyed myself all day - except for when Rooster loudly demanded five balls into an over that I update the scoreboard, when I had been doing so at the end of every over all day!!!

It was great to meet you in person mate, you are a handsome man!

If I can add my two cents worth re: the match, Churches took all eight wickets with mostly tricky catches - the boys fielded extremely well, especially when Brett Tarca took that absolute screamer on the boundary, probably the best I've seen at an amateur game!

I was also overall very impressed by not only the talent of the young guys, but also the way they conducted themselves throughout the day, they're all good lads.

Also good to see the likes of Dutchy, SpinTwin, Hoddo, Matty Nitschke, Jonny Smith, Junior Pidge, and Tyson all out there to cheer the boys on at various stages during the afternoon.

One final note... OB also brought his umbrella. Rangas like me who burn when we open the fridge (!!!) need to be so careful, and OB's umbrella was fantastic. Thanks mate.

Thnx mate, and to think you only got to see what i call my ugly side, tho most people refer to it as the "less perfectly handsome side".

Totally agree...great minds think alike hey....must admit ive been impressed by the borgasms leadership, fielding and batting over the last few weeks and likewise Matty Stancl also. Adelaide Luth's are looking good with these boys in thier side.....unless we can poach them with the promise of some big lunch spreads.

Speaking of lunch spreads, gotta say y'days spread was fit for a king. Thnx to mum superbad we had bbq sausages, bread, frankfurts, 3 pizzas, lamingtons, bbq shapes, 3 kinds of various cakes, bags of lollies, and the races on the big screen. With both teams and twenty or thirty hangers on at the club we still had plenty left over. Oh and Rooster lined his pockets with lollies too.

Thoroughly agree auto. Thought JB did a great job gelling the group and save for some on-field inexperience, I thought he handled himself really well in his first crack at captaincy.

Thought Delvendiep bowled well without luck and Pidge's first spell was great. Azza & J.McLeod toiled well and Stancl the surprise packet with the ball. A wayward & undisciplined last 5-6 overs cost us in the end. Borgas, Stancl & Azza with the bat, as you said. Super looked out of sorts with the willow. Looked like somebody stuck concrete in his boots. And Tarcs one-handed grab a foot inside the boundary at full stretch was one of the best outfield catches you'd see at social level.

Full credit to Simon & the ASCA lads, who conducted themselves & represented their Assoication superbly. Top bunch of lads. Well done guys, too good on the day.

Think it's fair to say the future isn't looking to bright with poor batting like this, and in regards to the catch, nothing more can be said that it was a pure fluke!!

After the success of the Queensland Flood appeal "Bash4Cash" day we were asked by a lot of people if we could/would make the Bash4Cash an annual event.

I am happy to say that we have started organising a day for next season - aiming to be held on Sunday, November 20th, 2011.

I have sent emails to the ATCA, PDCA, C&CCA and B&L Cricket Associations asking for them to support the event and we are hoping that this can become an annual event and we can use the day to raise money for a different charity every year. The coming event will be raising money for the "Haemophilia Foundation of Australia" (HFA). I have already been in contact with the HFA, who are extremely happy to receive our support. http://www.haemophilia.org.au/

If you, your employer, or anyone you know, is interested in helping organise the day please PM me or email me at bash-4-cash@hotmail.com

Days like this could help change people lives so please lets gets this off the ground and show, yet again, what amateur sports can do for those in need!

This is brilliant! it was great fun being part of the charity game for the Queensland Flood Appeal and it was an amazing effort by all involved to help raise much needed funds for those in need. Big ups also to those who came up with the idea and saw it through to the point where we will now have an annual event for those less fortunate. Outstanding work guys!

Top idea there bashforcash tho i originally read your charity as homophobia foundation and wondered if you were serious until i re-read it. By sending out invites to all cricket comps youre obviously looking to enlarge what we had this year. So whats your thinking in terms of which comps are playing who? Also maybe you should start your own thread.

Pfft....ive made more tons than ive had roast dinners.....made uncalculable hundreds over the years in the driveway at home. Made 788 one day in backyard cricket and the ball was taped up and swinging a mile. Also made three tons in test match cricket-the board game. My highest score was 127 but i maintain i was caught out off a bump ball!

hahaha gold! that brings back memories! i reckon i might still have the old test match cricket game in the shed, i used to put tiny tiny stones under the carpet when i played my brother so the ball would deviate off of them, he had no idea what was going on!
