Haz, what a fantastic result for the poor relations of the Mt Gambier teams in the Western Border comp, maligned for years, probably deservedly so at times, what have they done on White Ave. to turn it around. I know when I was in the Mount they volunteers at the club were as good as any, just couldn't attract any locals into the club purely on the "festers" tag.

I played colts for them back in the late seventies and early eighties when we lived there. A Grade coach at the time was Ray Buckley who worked with my dad, they played off in a couple of GF's but lost to North and Imps. Played under 10's and 12's as a ruckman, my rover was some little kid called Nathan Buckley, wonder what ever happened to him?

Been a long draught for the Roos with the other 3 clubs all winning flags between drinks for the Red and the Blue. An infoux of $$$ must of been a contributing factor or some good kids coming thru from the 18's. Anyone fill us in and the sudden improvement?

Good on West. Remeber playing seniors against them back in the mid 80's. Was always a physical game. They were always there about back then. Roger and Neal Doody were their stars. Played a few ripping games againt them at Vansittart Pk.
They were the days
