MK, pretty much out there in cricket circles, word was on Thursday night they were only a slight chance to actually play down there. About the wicket, it always looks nowdays like a greeny, but usually plays very well once you get set. As for top dressing this time of the year, I think their horticulturist has got it wrong once again. I do hear that the Port boys haven't been training for too long on their fantastic practice wickets due to another stuff up by whoever decided to rip the s..t out of them.

It seems that this was a case of a severe communication breakdown and in the State's top tier of cricket the thought of having a game abandoned due to something that is preventable is outrageous.

The council are fulling expecting questions to be asked, and rightly so. The only thing is we know we havent done anything wrong as a council and did everything to try and remedy the situation. Of course it doesnt help that Adelaide were chasing 300+, but the fact is, the way the pitch was presented would have been the same no matter who batted 1st etc.
Just putting the actual facts out there for u guys, rather than the rumour and innuendo that is no doubt running wild.

From now on, its back to the council doing the work, the way it should have always been IMO.

But, pitch was an even better cricket wicket than the previous week, I apologize for my thinking. Good to see Edmondson playing for the Bays and you guessed it, a great run chase. Go you Bulls.

Spot on!...
Nice in theory and would be nice to try but simply the Adelaide Turf clubs would not get close to grade clubs and the difference is like having League Footy Clubs trying to play in the AFL. Adelaide Turf is a good standard but just not even close to grade cricket. Even a combined side from Adelaide Turf would struggle let alone a club. No offence to all the turf players but just would not work. Even Prospect or Adelaide or Port Adelaide or East Torrens would be just a class above even a combined side from turf cricket and they are the real strugglers in grade cricket

Propect vs Kensington washed out at Prospect Oval.
