I'm surprised this didn't get more discussion on here.

From a reliable source, the PLFL was virtually held to ransom by PLCC and RCC, to get more games at Ravendale (which is now twelve minor round games).

Almost an abuse of the power that the PLCC has.

There was a meeting of the PLFL Presidents last week, and it seems that they simply caved.

Now thinking realistically, if PLFL held a preseason comp, or simply designated trial games played in Lincoln to be at Ravendale, then that would have increased the number of games played...

I personally think the clubs should boycott any preseason comp slated for Ravendale this year in protest.

This is standard MO for the PLCC regarding Ravendale...straight out of IB's playbook.
Would guarantee that PLCC would have used the future of Centenary as a bargaining chip to the PLFL.

I heard about this over the weekend but didn't have any facts so decided not to comment.

On face value it would appear the PLCC are blackmailing the footy league to use their new facility they now have to pay for with as BTB said, the future of Centenary being their power play.

Obviously means games will be played there not involving Tasmans so the rest of us will lose home games while Tasmans will keep their quota. More advantages to Tasmans for moving to Ravendale....

I will clarify that I believe Tasmans get an advantage from a home ground avantage, win/loss point of view, not financial as I'm told the deal Tamsans currently have gives them very little at all.

I'm sure MR for example would be most upset if they have to give away a game at Wangary to play it at Ravendale, their record out there is outstanding and it could be 2pts they don't get if it was say a 50/50 game but it was played away from Wangary.

We will most definatly look at boycotting a game if that is what it takes. After all the good work that we are putting in at Centenary this is the way we have been treated by the PLFL with more games at ravendale. Can they not work out why we are so keen to do up Centenary?
The PLFL need to toughen up, not a good start Toka's.

Our council would never do anything like that BTB ;)
We still get the privelage of seeing the great IB on the local news. Whyalla have done really well being able to secure his services as CEO   I am really looking forward to seeing the new Art Centre up there and how it goes

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

That's from PLFL website, however, it's now changed, to reflect 12 games at Ravendale.

Example is Bostons travel to Wangary Round 1 and Round 6, and the Round 11 clash is a Bostons home game at Ravendale. :?

So let's say Bostons develop a game plan based on the tight confines of Poole Oval and for the first time ever Poole becomes a real fortress for the Tigers (hypothetically.. ), we might have thought we were a good chance against MR on a small ground they don't play on very often but instead we have to front up at Ravendale on a ground with similar dimensions to Wangary. Plus there is no 'feel' of it being our home ground and we lose the home ground advantage. Our home game but all the advantage is with MR I reckon

And that's only the BFC example...

Thank you club Presidents for bowing to the BCCI of Port Lincoln...

A very intelligent post WCP and valid point. Will the MRFC v WFC match proceed there?

Re : Ravendale there is no financial advantage to Tasmans in having more games
played at Ravendale my understanding is the "home club" get the bar takings,
I have no idea who is going to man the canteen which, like all clubs is done a
voluntary basis, I for one wont be interested in doing it when we are going to be
playing elsewhere. I would have thought given WCP comments that Waybacks
would be at an advantage playing out there seeing as they train there.
BTB how would crowd numbers be at your clubrooms on a Sat. night if you played
across the road?
