They get the sniffer dogs going at every festival in Adelaide nowadays.

Typically the 'hype' surrounding the dogs attendance far outweighs its actual presence.

Still, it's a great inconvenience to have to stash all those joints up my anus.

True, but not as delicate as the Rainbow Lorikeet Eggs I took to Japan sometime ago.

SAPOL is urging the thousands of music lovers who plan to attend the Big Day Out
celebration to use common sense and be aware of their personal safety.
Superintendent Tom Rieniets says police want concert goers to have a fun - but safe -
time at this year’s Big Day Out music festival on Friday, 4th February.
"There will be a highly visible police presence and we have a comprehensive operation to
monitor crowd behaviour. If any problem groups or locations are identified we’ll be
intervening early to maintain public safety.”
“We’ll be targeting illicit drug and alcohol misuse, and we will be watching fence lines to
ensure the only people in the venue are there legitimately.”
Superintendent Rieniets says foot , bicycle and mounted police patrols will be used.
“We’ll be supported by Dog Operations Unit, to prevent and detect drug offences, as well
as officers from our License Enforcement Branch, to ensure appropriate provision of
alcohol.”
“Alcohol will be available at the event, but will only be sold in cans or plastic cups. People
will need to buy drinks tokens to exchange at the bar, and will not be given more than
three cans/cups per customer at one transaction, with all cans opened at the point of
sale.”
“Only people showing identification proving they are 18 years and over will receive
wristbands allowing access to bars and alcohol.”
“ Despite all the efforts of police and organisers, the safety of each individual remains
very much their own responsibility. Excessive drinking can lead to becoming a victim of
crime, while taking illicit drugs can result in dangerous , potentially life threatening
reactions. At the first sign of any difficulties, young people should seek help from police,
ambulance or other event officials. Police will be clearly visible in lime green event vests.”
Superintendent Rieniets advised a 25 km/h speed restriction will be in force between
9am on Friday 4 February 2011 and 1am on Saturday 5 February on the these roads:-
· Greenhill Road, Wayville (southern side) between Anzac Highway and
Goodwood Road;
· Goodwood Road, Wayville between Greenhill Road and Rose Terrace.

Thank God. Nothing worse than a pissed, stoned cop ruining your Big Day Out.

I suppose the lack of sell-out contibuted to the ease of gaining access to everything during the day, but that is by far and away the most organised and well run day I have been to. From entry to drinks tickets to getting a feed and going for a leak, truly the best day I have been to in terms of patron comfort. Anything less than that is now going to be an aspect of the day I dont much enjoy.

Highlights for me were Deftones, sound quality started very poorly but they got it right soon after. They played When Girls telephone boys which is a rarity for them to play live, so chuffed when they played that.

Tool were amazing. Iv seen em a few times and they were by far at their best. My mate who i was with has been around the world and seen them 20x agrees.
I know a lot gets said about how they dont jump around and act like tools (scuse the pun) but what u gotta realise they want the emphasis on the music and the visual show that they have developed for their music. Not feeding their on stage egos.

Blessed to see the Rammstein drummer come aout and do a drum bit with Danny Carey, then their singer come out and chase the guys around with his flame thrower before setting the drum kit alight while the guy was still playing it. Now that was awesome!!!!! Only show that they have done that!

Lupe Fiasco i thought was very good live, wasnt a huge fan. But def props to his performance

Been said but i agree, it was very well organised this year.

Never had to wait for more than a minute or 2 for a ticket or a beer. Very happy with that

Bring on Soundwave........

The good organisation and lack of a wait for drinks etc could be down to a smaller crowd.
