Whisper has it that Eastern Park are pulling the pin at the end of the year and heading off to the churches

WHUFC - perhaps you have some more info ;)

If true that will mean 4 sides from Grades 1-3 will be gone
The Lodge 1 & 2
Eastern Park 3
Playford 3

plus in the lower grades pull out Eastern Park's other sides and Playford's Grade 8 side

think that works out to be approx 8 sides or 1 whole grade

Last one to leave may have to turn off the lights

will be a shame for pdca... not sure there is a solution other than starting again in grade 3 or 4 and working back into it,as you said paying players is only short term and only delays the true outcome...will be interesting to see where a few blokes go thats for sure..
another thing i am suprised at is without mentioning any names a oth fella said he would never leave oth without winning a premiership..not to be i guess..
this little convo doesnt mean we are now friends...still open season..

nah nah... all wrong catchit. we will be in Div 1 next yr. Like OKC, i have heard the whispers of certain players leaving. but its happened before at OTH and probably will happen again. last time it happened was 3 or 4 seasons ago and we survived so i cant see why it wont happen again this time. losing OKC will be leave a bit of a hole, and if some of the other boys do leave then the loss will be felt but really it isnt as if anythin of those players rumoured to be leaving have really played to there potential and i think most will openly admit that. so the loss wouldnt be as big as if we were top of div 1 and these players were dominating.

but with these players possibly leaving it leaves opportunity for other players to step to the plate. maybe attract a few players to the club here and there and suddenly we could find ourselves back where we were. we r most probably going to enter a bit of a rebuilding period. but next season we will play div 1 and will be positive about our chances of stayin in div 1. none of this dropping down to div 3 n 4 rubbish

I hope this is the case as OTH is a really good club with good people and would hate to see them drop off grade 1. C.Smith said to me that this year is OTH's worst year ever statistically in grade 1, so things always look bad at their worst. Hopefully they get a competitive side together next year and start of with a win or two.

Nothing more than a whisper...................................................................at this stage ;)

Nah in all honesty i dont know whats going on.

That would be a pretty negative move IMO. Juniors can finish as late as 11:45, doesn't leave much time for travel. I wouldn't think Eastern Park would like to lose the rivalry that has been built up for many years.

Not saying i want to move or not, or whether it would be a good move or not BUT

that wouldnt be an issue at EPFC currently, we only have an A's & B's and both those sides are full of senior only players apart from one kid who very occasionally fills in the b grade.

the oldest junior side we have is a 14's so i dont think we will be using to many 13 years olds in our seniors and to be honest EPFC will only be having two sides next year no matter where it plays unless we pick up about 20 blokes as filling our b grade can still be an issue this year.

There definatly looking into that option,

they have almost another team worth of blokes who would be keen to play out there if they moved to the barossa as they live north of Gawler.
