UFC 126 THIS SUN :D

This event looks like the best PPV in a while. A couple of blokes from my footy team are actually having a 21st UFC/BBQ/PissUp at mine on Sun as my 21st present to them. The 3 main matches are all worthy of headlining the card. Sun were unleashing UFC Sweepstakes and side bets a plenty so i was keen to get the experts opinions (of this site/forum) of who they liked to have their hand raised at the end of the match????

Anderson i like for a second round submission over Belfort but to be honest i have only seen snipets and highlights of Belfort fighting. I dont know tons about him but he looks a likely type. I just think after nearly being unseated by Sonnen that Silva may be re-focused to get the job done a little more clinically. The Spider to continue building his legacy as PFP the best fighter in the World.

Rich Franklin on points over Forrest. Ill be barracking for Forrest and despite both fighters being ex champs i think Rich is the slighly better well rounded fighter. You gotta love the guts and determination of FG though and Dana rates him as one of the most important players in the rise of UFC. It will be interesting to see if FG,s year off helps or hinders him during this bout. Hopefully it has allowed all niggles to be 100% and his conditioning is always right where it should be. Would love for the smiling assasin to pull out an upset. 8)

Vader and Jones is the hardest one to pick for me :? . Similar story to Belfort in the fact that i didnt watch all of Joneses recent fights live but have seen enough of him to know he is the real deal. I watched every episode of TUF 8 and Vader is clearly a wrestling machine who is super impressive, undefeated and choc full of self belief albeit not as exciting to watch as some other fighters in the UFC. Its genuinly hard to believe that Sportsbet lists Darth Bader who is 13-0 at $3.60 for the win. Im not a gambling man these days as i have gambled the quota of 3 or 4 life times but this interests me a lot. Bookies generally dont like giving their money away so i guess ill have to tip Jones. If it goes to the ground though Bader has to have the edge. I also tip another set of judges score cards to come into play and judges score cards are often favourable to Wrestlers but ill go with Bones Jones on points....just

Re: UFC SEASON 13 TEAM BROCK LESNAR V TEAM JNR DOS SANTOS

Postby wristwatcher » Wed Feb 02, 2011 10:09 am

Does anyone know when TUF 13 will be aired??? I have been watching TUF 11 over the past couple of weeks as i didnt get a chance to see it much at all when it went to air the first time. Another interesting series with good coaches and coaching and some tough tight exciting bouts :D

Having seen them all now i must say the coaching overall is excellent and must be a huge bonus to a fighters repotoire whether they stay in UFC or not as they go into their careers. In 12 seasons and 24 coaches (some repeat coaches in that 24 obviously) i must say only 2 coaches were not up to standard IMO. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson is by far the worst coach in both serious he competed in. Yes hes a funny guy but boy did he let his fighters down in various ways and was statistically clearly the worst coach in the shows history. I dont think he could believe how poorly he went in TUF 7 UNTIL HE DID TUF 9 and showed the world that he is no coach!
Of course the other was "The Koss" . Perhaps not so much with the training and the way he treated his team..but what an enormous tosspot. Josh says "Everybody loves the Koss" but im yet to meet or hear from anyone who supports this statement. I appreciate and understand the shows sub plot is to build the rivalry between the pros/coaches but his lack of respect for the pure class of GSP and constant beration and attempted adjatation was bordering on the juvenille. I was so glad to see GSP belt the snot out of JK THE GOLDEN DOUCHE as he got what he deserved.

One of the best coaches i ever saw and one of my fav fighters was Season 4 winner and season 6 coach Matt "The terror" Serra. Heres a guy who did everything he could to prepare, back and vocally coach his team through every second of their matches. Interestingly enough Serra was the last person to beat GSP after winning TUF 4 and he did so without ever disrespecting GSP and whilst maintaining integrity in the win and the rematch loss at GSP house. 8)

Sportsbet odds have him at $1.55 which seems about right to me...Yeah hes a classy guy and his fight v Ken Shamrock albeit short was one of my favourites with the 22 consecutive head strikes in quick sucession that he delivered. Really took him from good fighter to Star that match IMO.

I think Franklin will win by decision. Fan of both, but moreso Griffen as he's a plucky fighter and will be hoping he lands a big one on Franklin's chin.

Forrest has been very ordinary recently. Franklin is still on the up in comparison so I think he'll win fairly easily. Remember he won with a broken arm last start.

Franklin KO or TKO in the second.

Vitor Belfort was amazing when he 1st joined the UFC, he won UFC 12.

He has a 1-2 record against Couture, 1 loss by TKO, the other by a doctor stopage.

IIRC they were the only 2 loss's in his 1st UFC stint.

Had/Has amazing hands that are so fast....

He'll need his hands to be fast to get anywhere near Silva. Silva will win (arm bar submission), but I'd like to see the underdog get up and put a bit of a spanner in the works for Dana White.

Off the Franklin v Forrest fight for a bit,

couldn't help but comment on the BJ Penn victory shown last night on OneHD for UFC109. I havent seen a more dominant fight for a while.

A mate sent it too me via you tube and its titled "Best fight Ever" and goes for 2.03 of highlights. Some of the best toe to toe action that i have ever seen 8) . Check it out.
