Callum Ferguson added to Australian squad
Cricket Australia’s National Selection Panel (NSP) today announced South Australian batsman Callum Ferguson has been added to Australia’s squad for the remaining two matches of the Commonwealth Bank Series against England in Sydney and Perth.
Shaun Marsh is still to undergo scans in Sydney however given the nature of his right hamstring injury and the short turnaround between matches, a decision has been made for Ferguson to join the Australian squad this afternoon.
NSP Chairman Andrew Hilditch said:
“Callum Ferguson has been added to the Australian squad for the final two matches of the Commonwealth Bank Series. Callum has an excellent record in one-day internationals for Australia and is in good form this season. We are sure Callum will seize the opportunity that comes following the unfortunate hamstring injury suffered by Shaun Marsh.
Further information regarding Shaun Marsh’s hamstring injury will be distributed to media once scan results have been reviewed.
