Word is that Hughes said "no thanks" to a game in district cricket over the weekend, instead worked on improving his game by going home to see family for a weekend off

Carey, nice try, can't happen under terms of his contract to Cricket Australia, cannot be spoken to until that contract expires in April/May. But should it happen, I'm tipping a new record number of runs for a shield season. He should not play 20/20 cricket again, ruins his technique and timing.

Someone make a ridiculous statement, and I will live up to it, if Phillip Hughes plays for the Redbacks next season.

Two things that should never be put together:

"Phil Hughes" and "Technique".

He has none.

Oh he has a technique, just not a correct one. Hope he sorts it out. He could be anything if he could be as effective on the onside and down the ground as he is through point and to a lesser extent cover.

Phil could do a lot worse than watch a few tapes of Jonathon Trott who is excellent in the areas where Hughes is not.
