Can anyone out there ID this old footy photo - era, club, venue, players, uniform etc? Bloke at the front on the angle looks famiiliar to me.

It would definitely be pre WW1 (the "shorts" cover the legs), for some reason the stand reminds me of a picture of the stand at the Jubilee Oval.

lol, that's funny.

Looks a bit to me like Port's magenta guernsey perhaps at Alberton? (only guess though)

I think its Port Adelaide. All the players have that hungry,desperate and homeless look.

Does it have the photographers or studio name or anything else written on the back ?.

Port wore magenta until 1901 and the old grandstand at alberton wasn't built until 1903 so if it was port they would be in the black and white unless its a second eighteen team that may of continued to wear the magenta still ?.

Could be West Adelaide. That stand looks like the stand at Wayville where West played for a season or two.
(Can't see Pram lady. :wink: )

Can anyone help with player Id from this Adelaide 1888 team photo?

Any help very much appreciated

I have completed my research into Adelaide's 1886 premiership season with all statistics, match reports, club and player profiles included.

Strewth, I wouldn't be trusting the bloke on the left of the 2nd row!! :shock:

I would have guessed Alberton, but I've never been a collector of SANFL history so sorry mate, not much help here.
