Sturt can be tricky to get, they tend to keep it simple and low print run.

I have queried this with the club re the comments earlier in the thread and I was told that as a club with a lot of voluntary input in this area, this is the reason behind that and the reason why it's not released earlier. People can point the finger and insinuate impropriety if they like, but everything is above board.

Just to be clear I am NOT suggesting anything suspicous or underhand at the Commander Centre.

I usually collect Annual Reports for my commentary research and have usually found Sturt's one of the hardest to get.... that's it.

If you got time to do a search Barto you'll realise that this get's brought up every year.
Not only by other clubs supporters but by sturt members too.

So you think they're asking the local senior citizens to prepare the financial statements in between making the lamingtons? Just because time is being offered up for free due to a love of the club, doesn't mean the people involved aren't highly qualified.

So if a CPA offers to do your tax statements and BAS for free but says he'll do it last because he's prioritising the high paying clients first, you'd say no because it's 'voluntary'?

Yes I would if I had an ATO audit coming up and he couldn't get the work done in time; I'd pay someone to get them done in time so there could be proper scrutiny.

Dunno, check with them. If everything is legitimate and above board, as a club member I dont have issue with what's happening.

quick question. Does the Sturt constitution say that members must be given 14 days (minimum) to study the annual reports before the agm?
If it doesnt then they probably have done nothing wrong.
But MOST constitutions of sanfl club do have this in there, and there's no good valid reason why they can choose to overlook this, if this is the case.
Not many members are concerned with the back room workings of sanfl clubs, but fortunately there is a vocal minority that keep the bastards honest.

I'm one of those vocal supporters who asks a lot of questions. I hope the clubs ready to answer questions about the PAMFC proposal that was approved, as I want to know what the club knows...

That said, I'll be very interested in how the finances are. I'd like to think we made a decent profit this year, but I'm prepared to hear once again how things didn't work out and we ended up making another loss.

Good luck asking your questions as that is your right as a member at an AGM , a few on DB Org wouldn't be happy with too many questions asked I bet .

The more questions, the better IMO (as long 'question's aren't the irrational rants like one person went on with) doesn't matter who is in charge, they still need to be accountable to the members. There's no elections because (as far as I know) no one has put their hand up to challenge any of the incumbents.

The Eastern Suburbs Messenger or whatever it's called carries a story this week which briefly mentions a 'likely' profit of around 100k for Sturt.
