Im not old enough to have seen it live but i recall reading about it. I think hilditch was given out handled ball at non strikers end by nawaz. Disgraceful act by nawaz and miandad. Think it was in 78/79 in perth

Speaking of the 78/79 Pakistan Tests, in the first, you'll see in this video the Javed Miandad dismissal of Rodney Hogg while he was gardening. Fiery is his nature, so Hogg smashed the stumps with his bat when eventually given out.

Then in the next Test, Hilditch was dismissed handled the ball as touched on above. Then in the same Test, I think Alan Hurst(?) Mankaded a Pakistani batsman. Sikander Bakht I think was the player.

I reckon your right. Miandad was the biggest cheat going around, little wonder the pakis are still cheating when he is treated like a god.

Personally, that last part with the Mankad I don't mind. If the batsman has left his crease before the ball would have been released then he's cheating of sorts. The current rules allow a bloke to take off once the bowler enters his bowling stride, so he can be several metres down when the ball actually gets let go. And the bowler has no recourse. I think faking a batsman out (mankadding a guy who waits for when a ball should have been bowled but is held onto) is wrong, but the guy was trying to take more of a head start than he deserved.

Otherwise, the other incidents are terrible. And sadly we need to make rules against such actions.

Chappell, as it is a part of the full time selector role.
