What were they? have you mentioned them before? Were they worth informing the club about? How "broad" do you want to be using the word "incident"? Do you mean like the fight in the race that spilled into the crowd at Richmond, when Jarman was coach of North? Or do you mean spectators walking past saying "bad luck"? There isn't really a word limit, you can explain it, or did you need to be questioned first?

sjt, "the fight in the race at Richmond Oval"?

Do you mean the day a North player (name supplied on request) took out his temper on West's club doctor in the race?

As for Elizabeth, it has always been a shocking place for opposition facilities, no matter how much the Centrals' supporters defend it.

My comments purely were addressing what Grahaml said "Once the players go through the race they're separated from the crowd" which is not strictly true based on things I have witnessed over several years as I said in my post. I did not think it did any good for the game or a fine club in Centrals to discuss further than I did however since you asked.

All were reported to the Centrals club at the time of occurrence and Chris Grant/security dealt with them at the time - two that come to mind was where an official has recycled fluid poured over him by a couple of dickheads and where supporters shoulder through the middle of players coming off after another losing game --- I think they register as an incident not just supporters walking by saying bad luck and were taken by the home club officials as serious at the time.

Not totally sure on what you mean by have I mentioned them before but my recollection is that the first incident was discussed on a footy site.

Obviously, you learn from experience and those two gates in the fence are well protected by officials during all player movement and we all look up when using the wire race. :D

Edited to add - I witnessed above and was involved in the resolution.

Several Centrals supporters ran out onto the ground immediately after the final siren and about 20m in front of the Glenelg coaches box they confronetd the Glenelg players and were abusive.
Glenelg officials tried to protect the players by getting between them and the supoortes as they desperatley tried to get the attention of security who were busy controlling Centrals supporters at the head of the race.
This is an accurate account and I was present as a neutral observer.

I can vouch this is accurate as I was one of the Bay officials screaming at the 2 Weslo guys. They were watching Central supporters streaming onto the ground while Glenelg players were still out there. Some supporters were "in their face" and blocking efforts to leave the oval

BUT I reckon the drainage system is the most likely prospect.
Both times we played at Elizabeth last season plumbers had to be called to clear drain problem so race could be used

Good to hear they were reported and a resolution took place. I appreciate the response. It gets frustrating when people make up stories (which is very easy to do) about suppposed incidents. Which is obviously not the case in this instance.

Might have been, it was a while ago and I wasn't there. I was listening to the radio and there was fight in the race that spilled into the crowd. Can't honestly remember much more. Was just sick of the Central "bashing", trying to point out that just as many "incidents" happen at other ovals involving other teams.
I do agree with other posters, spectators shouldn't be allowed to enter the oval until the teams have exited. Despite the fact many teams now take an eternity to exit and I used to love jumping the fence as a kid and getting the players autographs or patting them on the back. Unfortunately times have changed.
Can't comment on the opposition facilities, haven't seen them. Won't try to defend them and can't recall any other Centrals supporters defending them.

Anyway onto the building work..

I reckon its a new coaches box for the 'home' team, and the old 'home' coaches box will be demolished leaving the 'away' coaches box in the back of the stand deep in the forward pocket ;)

Yes, new toilets. Should be ready by end of Feb. Old ones behind the stand will be getting knocked down.
