South Africa lost the Sydney Test after declaring both their innings - the second nation in Test annals to lose a Test match after declaring both their innings. In March 1968, West Indies had lost the Port of Spain Test against England (404 + 215/3) by 7 wickets after declaring in both their innings - 526 for 7 declared and 92 for 2 declared.

It nearly happened to Allan Border as well in the Tied Test at Madras in 1986. Thank god for that dodgy LBW on Mahinder Singh because the umpire wanted to be a part of history..and Deano's double century of course.
