Gumeracha in big trouble. May not field a side. Kangarilla have apparently signed one of the raidis boys who have been at Marion, Tailem etc. Heard there may be some more barker boys heading to Nairne

Is there any reason for everyone bailing from Mt Barker? Apart from being the second worst club in the league behind Blackwood is there any specific reason? Is it also true that Luke Murphy is laving Barker and going to Nairne? Why would he go and play for a div 2 side when absolutely carve up in Div 1??? I don't understand

hahndorf have recruited james gallagher from norwood officially, he is cousin of the now skipper, also the club probably has recruited about 5 or 6 players who have consistently played reserves standard football, one of them from north adelaide having played quite a few games down there, no names as yet but will keep informed

Optimism and confidence wont bring you from wooden spooners to match it with the likes of Lofty, Doggies and Cabbages. Especially considering the number of players who have opted out of the bankers to move to meadows...Where are meadows getting all their cash from ?!??!?

Meadows cash must be from the meadows show in October or maybe old man dawe selling a few homes.

good on hahndorf, although theyre one of my least favourite sides to play it will be good to see more than 3 decent sides this year. last year teams obviously opted to recruit one exafl and league player to try to change their clubs fortune. when lofty, uris realised that you can find plenty of talent in ressies players and perhaps afford 2 or so more. trigger, racer, flash rossco etc played alot of ressies with trig playing some league as well. i think stansborough played massive amounts of ressies games and all these players have dominated hills A's.

as far as IB and shanty go i dont think youll see too much change in ladder positions this year in fact if it wasnt for birdwood coming up id say theyd be last and 2nd to last again. but if they can keep these recruits for next year and then recruit some more players they will definately start to push into the 5. two new players arent going to help them win on the bigger ovals. they need some gun midfielders.

cant wait for the trials to start so we can start to see if all of our predictions are coming true.

Lots of talk about this Gallagher. Have seen him play many times, and is know where near as good as some of the people running around in the Hills. Will be a handy rover, who may kick a few, but wouldnt think he is a game winner. For the record, he got the boot from norwood, ended up at Sturt in 2005 for a few reserves games and spent last year with Rostrevor. Not a bad bloke with probably a touch more arrogance than required.

I'd be very surprised if Hahndorf weren't a very very solid team this year. A very proud club and have enjoyed not being able to match it with the top couple over the past few years. Despite having 'magpie' as there emblem, I have much respect for the boys and the club itself....except for Chris Trapp, who deliberately kneed me in the head late in a game a couple years back...you dirty b@st@rd!!! I will repay the favour Mouse!

DA, i must admit i got into the recent World Cup, a couple of late nights and all nighters at the Stag may be the reason i only played two game of A grade footy last year (seeing the A grade coach in rundle mall still pissed at 11.00am didnt help) that and im shit.

Yeah kudos to Hahndy. The've obviously been smart about their recruiting this year and learned their lesson from TOA last year.

A few tough ressies players makes all the difference to a hills side.

LTSO - nothing wrong with having a magpie as your emblem - unless you're in the AFL!

Luke Murphy already cleared to Nairne along with Simon Krueger and maybe Heinrich boys as well. Luke Murphy played junior footy at nairne and his dad played there as well. Why would Chad Dawe, Michael Dannielle, Carter from TV play country when they would carve up Div 1?

In a word - YES!

My first A grade game was played on Heathfield Oval after a full week of torrential rain. By the time the A's started, there was not 1 patch on the oval that had visible grass. The majority of the ground was ankle deep mud. For a period during the 2nd and 3rd quarters it was so foggy that from the back pocket, you couldn't see past the defensive 50. You had to listen out for where the ball might be and try to pick it out of the fogg before your opponent.

This was back when we were shite (in the middle of a 29 game losing streak), but Onkas could only manage 5 goals for the day compared to our 1. It was our second closest game of the season! A real spectacle for the fans!

Paddock, yeah mate besides the last couple of years most of the ovals have been terrible. uraidla normally stays pretty good though. the worst in recent years wouldve been bridgy, IronB, Barker(all sand), lofty hate to say but has beem woeful until lately, lobe gets really sticky and your feet go down about 10cm the same as blackwood. hahn gets muddy, balhannah stays pretty good but have played some muddy games there also.

but shanty would have to be the worst, geting condemed a couple of years ago as not just mud and water but also septic covered the oval causing quite a few infections in cuts from games.

LTSO, spoke to a young barker boy who is at sturt at the mome, and he said that no one likes the new coach or s.nunan.
