5 or 10 times? I find that difficult to believe.

Of course Central start pre-season later so invariably they will have harder blocks of training during the summer and that leads to their inevitable mid-season slump where they appear old, slow and tired. Only to be up and about come October.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Wow, I agree with Booney.
Except for a few boys doing the extra training. I can imagine that may be close to twice as hard.

Technical I know, but Tim Weatherald, or even Brant Chambers should he continue on at a lower level.

I doubt Brant will play , his back and knees are stuffed . Had 1 more year at Sturt at a stretch which he stated in October. Won't be too long and Wetherald will be back at Sturt I think.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Weatherald back at Unley in some capacity. I noticed that he's part of the charity bike ride that's coming up.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

You are talking about players going from anU18 pre season to a senior pre season of course it should be harder......
The U18 pre season has to cater for players who are 15, 16, 17, 18

very true but have heard the exact same thing from James Boyd and Ben Nason when they crossed over to the Dogs, they couldnt believe how much harder and more professional our pre season was compared to their previous clubs.

I understand Cameron Milne is coming along nicely and will be able to take up the second ruck role at Centrals if needed this season.

Everyone who first comes to the club comments about how hard we train. Even the AFL players say it's far harder than they were expecting.

Played a reserves game last year and looks to have some raw talent.

Trained with Essendon so they must have saw something in him.

Certainly forms part of the basis anyway. But even going back to the mid nineties when I first recall fitness being talked about there were comments about how fit the dogs were. Most thought it because of the size of the ground and just the need to run more to cover it.

great points, another thing i was thinking about last night was that the Central side of the early 2000's used alot of midfield rotations and had 10-12 blokes running through the midfield at any stage. While its common ground for every club to do that now at the time i remember how lots of people including opposition coaches, media etc etc said we one of the first SANFL sides to run that many people through the midfield.

I guess having so many natural midfielders at training who needed to be pushed to a higher fitness level meant training was always going to be pretty hard.

Just did a quick count of the confirmed player ins and outs to date (excluding coaches etc)and it looks to be a pretty volatile year. 83 outs and 77 ins with quite a lot of players dropping out through work/personal commitments and also a lot returning, changing clubs etc. Makes for a very interesting and unpredictable season ahead.

You don't have to be so nasty about it it's not Nazi Germany.
I don't like your attitude for something so trivial.

awwww resorting to a Nazi gibe already.

Other Mods had already asked everyone to get back on topic more than once and you all chose to ignore them. The posts came close to being deleted completely. In the end they were moved to a thread of their own so don't whinge.

Which is all fair enough ... this thread gets back on track and the tangential posts are alive and well in another thread.

So a win-win for all.

Don't shoot JAS, she's just the messenger.
