Tomic pushed Nadal longer than expected but Rafa's class shone through for a straight sets win.

If Tomic manages to ditch his dropkick Dad and get some humility into his demeanor then I'd be more impressed with his performance.

For mine he's a spoilt brat with potential but has a long way to go to show he's the real deal.

Tomic should be reasonably happy with that performance, against a player that is on another level entirely to him. The second set showed some real fight and promise.

Caroline Wozniacki through to the quarter finals, 6-3, 6-4. She will face the winner of Svetlana Kuznetova and Francesca Schiavone.

Li Na dominant in downing eighth seed, Victoria Azarenka 6-3, 6-3. She will play the winner of Maria Sharpova and Andrea Petkovic in the quarter finals. No Chinese player has ever won a Grand Slam, but possibly the biggest chance ever for this to happen.

Awesome match between Kutnetsova and Shiavone, both were spent by the end of the match....

Sharapova slowly working her way back into the match against Petkovic.... may be a bit to late though.

yep all over Sharapova beaten by Petkovic 6-2, 6-3.

Another disappointing tournament from Sharapova.... hasn't done much at all in the last year/two years.

Quite amazing to think that a 23 year old may have peaked already in her career. Since 2008, has really done very little at Grand Slam level, in terms of seriously threatening for another title. When looking at the tournament before it started, never considered her any sort of real chance. Just seems to lack the real killer instinct nowadays and also commits far too many unforced errors to knock off higher opponents.

And she needs to work on her serve as well, her ball toss is too far in front of her meaning she hits way too many double faults or has a poor second serve that the opponent can put away.

she looked ok towards the end but just can't put it all together at the moment, looks to slow too....

watching Roddick at the moment and hes 4-3 down against Wawrinka.... is it just me or does anyone else find Roddick boring to watch?

Roddick has always been a one trick pony. Take away his big serve and he would be ranked in the 100's.

I wouldn't personally find him boring, but think he will go down as one of the great underachievers of the game. To only win the one Slam, way back in 2003, and since then, to only be thereabouts, is mystifying. There is something missing from his game, but just can't put my finger on what. Most parts are very good, but he just can't seem to pull out those really big wins anymore. Can get anchored to the backcourt a bit too much, and more mobile opponents just drag him to the net and he can get exposed there.
