Played the Pat on Monday, 1st is a temp green which aint the way to start a round, course is in OK nick for the traffic it gets, nice to play on a forgiving course, esp with my wild shots! Had a very hot and cold day from a 9 on the par 3 5th to an Eagle on the Par 5 17th.

PLaying down at Lady Bay again on Thursday, not feeling confident but be good to play twice in a week.

Played South Lakes on the 9th Jan. Fairways dry but still nice, greens in good nick.

Shot 33 points without EVER threatening to do something really good. Driving was sensational or terrible, and chipping was useless. Putted well and hit irons OK, which minimised the damage. We had 14 blokes and the scores only varied from 38 (winner) to 30 (NAGA).

Next game Echunga on the 30th.

Also received a Riverland Golf info pack. Ive played Loxton before, can anyone else recommend any of the other 4 main courses (Berri, Barmera, Waikerie and Renmark)?

I am a member at Renmark, and the course is looking in very good condition. The course is reasonably long. The golf use uses reclaimed water so is very green and well kept.

It is the pick of the courses in my opinion, with waikerie a close second. Renmark also has 4.5* accom and a restaurant at the golf club.

Riverland golf week gets off the ground again in April so this could be a good time to get a look at the courses.

Agree Renmark is the best up there clearly IMO, a lot of holes remind me of Kooyonga.

As the Bar Manager of the Westward Ho Golf Club I can firmly reccomend the Royal Patawlonga for the best value public course going around.
For the amount of traffic we get, the greens, the fairways & general conditions day in, day out are second to none.
Prices may be a fraction higher than SOME others, and rules for bringing own booze are also stricter, but it also keeps the yahoos off the course.
Not many other clubs/courses have 2 18 hole courses available to the public every day.
We are also open good friday this year, as is the bar from 12 noon til 5. Tell me somewhere else thats open then?

i dont mind the pat
normally start my season on the short north course. quick round there.

the south course is good but i personally find it too busy for when im looking for a hit

they should start twilight golf a tad earlier i reckon.

Dutchy, with Kooie being my absolute favourite layout, that is a fair wrap. Only played Loxton up in the Riverland and enjoyed that, will have to put Renmark on the schedule.

Just has a similar feel to it, big gum trees, well manicured fairways and greens, same coloured sand in the bunkers...

Its certainly not Koey, but does remind me a bit of it.

Dutchy, remember that Kooey green from a while back, I actually hit a 2nd shot from middle of 9th fairway to the 10th green, big shank with a 1 iron and no I didn't make par, or anything near it.
