Green is no teenager, be early 20's and was only a 'good' player in Port Lincoln. Stood out more after one year in a terrible side in Great Flinders

Not an out as such but Stephen Doyle of Norwood will not play until at least the half way mark if he plays at all. Understand he will be doing some player development and coaching at reserve level.

Maybe they're putting in an opposition coaches box with a view of the ground?

Or adding more lights so that we can see the pockets at night?

:-??

why do the opposition complain? We have to play under the same conditions as well. Oh, that's right, Our coaching staff wear night-vision goggles. For years & years, the coaches box was fine, just because OURS is elevated, doesn't mean that We should pay to make YOU more comfortable. Hire a frigging cherry-picker & bring it with you! Next you'll be whingeing because We have a bloody indoor swimming pool and a new Gym.

Nothing to do with elevation, it's a crap coaches box in the forward pocket, miles from the wing.

The stats facilities are even further to the south.

The rooms are way out the back.

The lights are crap.

Other than that, no problems :D

The opposition coaches box is in the members stand which is on the wing.

Our stand doesnt extend to the forward pocket.

So based on about 20 games thats $26K a year. Would be interesting to know what he was on at Centrals?

(By the way this is not an invitation for snide remarks about brown paper bags etc..)
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

$1300 a game, probably more than he'd get playing league, for a fraction the time. Plenty of blokes would jump at the chance to earn $1300 in a week working full time, let alone for a game of footy and a couple of training sessions a week.

... and that's the sad state of affairs we have these days.

With the SANFL salary cap (for some clubs anyway), it's much more lucrative for some to play elsewhere picking up better coin for less commitment.

This is becoming more prevalent as time goes on ... SANFL clubs losing good players, sometimes relatively early in their careers.

A real shame ...
