Both players are potential Mail Medal winners so would be a knife through the heart of the club if they left.

He didnt like it there because he wasnt gettin paid enough coin that was the reason!! he stuffed around with birdwood in the same year aswell so he has the reputation to shop himself around for the best offer!! i heard they are offering 400 at hanna this year but in a team like mt barker the chances of him gettin through there midfield are very slim so cant see why they would waste that much money on him!!! only other thing is he maybe be telling gum that they have offered this much so then he can get more money there!!! and they are both no chance of a mail medal im sorry[/quote]

Hanna would be a better option than Murphy. Agree prowse no chance of a medal but Hanna sure is, polled really well last year playing about half the year coming back from North. A really good ball getter just not real damaging.

yeah murphy is gettin on a bit but how can u fit him in with block, fisher, hughes, hughes and scott!! they got a quality midfield already so i cant see them giving him heaps of coin to play midfield! and prowsey would be a b grader or fringe a grader with injuries!! either way goodluck to them but i know gum wouldnt be real pleased about this especially if they have had verbal agreements they arent going anywhere!

You have to be kidding me David Murphy would shit all over Benn Hanna he is ten times the player. Even in his 30's i would have Murphy in front of Hanna

Have to agree, Dave Murphy is still well and truely holding his own in Mt Barker's midfield. Quality player who gets the hard ball unlike others. Top 3 in B & F last season if I'm not mistaken. Word on the street is he has hung the boots up so maybe Hanna's going to fill that vacant position.

I'm only going by what i saw of him at Macclesfield. I remember expecting to come up a real dominant player but he struggled to find the ball. Yes he was in a very average team and it always helps when you have better players around you but every one to their own i guess.

Fairly sure Dave has hung up the boots for Mt Barker, he's living in Nairne now ;)

Krieg is coaching them and by the sounds of it their money stocks haven't. In fact they might have increased! Whispers coming from there, that not all the locals are happy about it.

Not sure where all these whispers seem to be coming from cause there doesn't seem to be much evidence of it, but oh well! Guess all will be revealed come round 1.

very well said.... Ben hannas ball skills especially by foot arent up to scratch he burns alot of the footy but does find the ball quite a bit!! he was the champ at gummers and everyone kept putting that into his head i do think he will struggle in Central div purely because the pace and the class of the players are a tad better than country.. but only time will tell and surely gum will try do evreythin to keep him there but from what i heard he has signed with mt barker

speaking to the kangarilla coach the other night and he tells me he's signed Lee Sanders & Matt Hodge from Victor Harbour in the GSFL, if true a couple of massive pick ups, Hodgey would rip the comp apart.

Gav played many many years at Reynella before he left for Blackwood and then retrned to Reynella. He then was up in North QLD working for a few years and I believe he coached up there and may have possibly coached the North QLD U/18 state team or something along them lines.
