Morons who balance on a 100mm median strip between the 4 lanes of full on traffic on South Rd, complete with 6-7 yr old in hand and shopping in the other when it widens to 2500 mm just 6ft away   .Not to mention the pedestrian crossing with lights 30m away :? :? .

It's terrible :(

Just like there are people/strangers just turning up on door steps and offering their help/services,
Majority obviously are there just for that - helping a fellow human being,
But how long before we hear stories of 'dodgy' people turning up and taking advantage in some way.

I hope it doesn't happen - but there's always a bad apple out there somewhere.

Yeah, heard from the inlaws in Dalby that there have been reports of people from interstate flying up to QLD to supposedly 'lend a hand', while stealing from houses and then selling the items off at a bargain price to other families in need.

Sigh ... here we go again.

Let the religious car vs bike war start again. #-o

Even though some of them do give me the shits for their lack of respect of anything engine powered that wasn't what I was referring to........

There is a very good reason I don't wear lycra and a large (pardon the pun) percentage of those wearing it at the moment should also realise that impersonating a cyclist carrying a dozen spare tyres around their waist is not a good look

PS: I am an occasional cyclist that rides to survive, I respect other road users and don't go out of my way to get in their road...........I realise the road wasn't constructed for the sole purpose of riding bikes 2 and 3 abreast while blocking a whole lane of cars!!

Im just starting to ride my bike again after a number of years off it, Id prefer to run but my knees just wont handle it these days. I enjoy it but Im not as fearless as I once was and cars flying past at 80+ kmh only a couple of feet from me now really concerns me. Im currently searching for roads to ride on that have bike lanes. I also would never ride next to another cyclist, dont understand why they have to do this, surely single file is the way to go to keep everyone happy.

As for lycra, I dont really get it, surely tight fitting t-shirt and shorts does the same job?

One thing I do hate at the moment is going down the Bay ona Sunday morning and trying to find a table for breakfast!

I'm in the same boat mate. There are plenty of bike lanes around my area, Modbury, Golden Grove and the like, but also PLENTY of hills!!

Every man and his dog ringing us to find out if they have flood cover.

Read your policies people!

and to think Adelaide will NEVER flood, as the only threat to houses would be to those that live within proximity of the Torrens or a reservoir.

We're no Brisbane...

Not sure that Adelaide will "never" flood. There are pockets that are on flood plains and could be affected by a 100 Year Flood. Having been in this same position back in 1992, when many homes in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula were innundated with floodwater, many of us also thought the same thing - and also assumed that there would be flood cover.

The wording on a policy, to the average person who may never check a policy, was very poor back then (certainly much plainer English now). Even now, it may be unclear to some people.

I know in our case, with over 20 houses flooded in one town - ONE house/person received an insurance payout. The rest were all denied due to the difference in terms "stormwater", "flood water" and other terms. The average person doesn't think of these sorts of things when looking at insurance because, yes, it is an isolated event that is unlikely to occur.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

& finding out the treble paid $227.80 for a $1.00 unit......would have cost me the same as i had like everyone else the first leg winner by itself & the difference in total to what i collected was $503.20......
