actually marymount, where we have been for a few seasons now is one of the best grounds in the comp. good size, well maintained, better than the hardwicket/turf pitch we saw at plympton on saturday

its the most important one, i assumed we were talking about a grade as gowser was

Facilities? Ask your secretary as he approached us to share some of our facilities. But to answer your questions, we have clubrooms, 5 training nets of high quality (best in comp), bowling machine. Traditionally Keswick have never been as spoiled as other clubs riding on the coat tails of footy clubs and yet we remain one of the strongest clubs in the comp, both on and off the field. Why is that?

Because a certain doctor has to much money and enjoys paying the likes of Heath Mackay to play cricket for the Keswick Cricket Club, simple and true answer. That is why you have people like that at your club. You can give the doc a pat on the back. No doc no Keswick.
Plymptons Oval is out of our control, its up to the council to maintain it so let that be. As for marymount i think it is a good surface and is a good place to play cricket apart from there being no shitters that are open.

It's a few weeds in the middle of the pitch. Stop blaming the council for your own lack of pride and laziness.

What a healthy arguement over nothing eh? For what it's worth Hawthorndene is looking an absolute treat and a pleasure to play on with the rain we've had and the new matting has settled down fairly well. But if you want value for shots learn to hit in the air.

Looking forward to a big one-dayer with Coro this week now that the toss won't play a part in deciding the result ;)

We are far from the best surface in the comp atm. Ours has become very thick and is very slow.

The best outfield in the comp is Warradales home ground at Brighton and Marymount is also a nice surface.

WTF ? Timing and placement give you value for your shots, hitting them in the air is just another way of getting out.

Poor advise IMO.

Hopefully we don't follow in Queenslands footsteps and have an influx of rain this weekend. Going to be a very close and exciting game...

If 'd like I'll go out there before training on Thursday night and give the pitch a prune and liven up the playing surface for u. Or u just worry bout wanting to play cricket instead of calling a game off due to a light shower pathetic IMO
U need to get over urself mate and just worry bout cricket cause wingeing on here is doing nothing for u

Who would be the biggest rivals in Section 1 nowadays?
Which game is the Norwood/Port, the Collingwood/Carlton, the NSW/QLD (Origin), the Villi's/Balfours?

Is it now Cove v. Sheidow? ICC v. WYC? PFCC v. Keswick?

You know, the one match where the ASCA MUST have at least 1 umpire, probably 2. Where tempers simmer near boiling point before play.
Where the toss of the coin resembles the moment before a boxing match as 2 combatants face off.
Where supporters niggle all day - I think this only happens at Morphies now, sometimes Plympton, used to be Hectoville ( those blokes were nuts).

I think the Morphies v Plympton rivalry is a fantastic rivalry, over the years there have been players that have defected either way, and there are always words said out on the field, the crowd (morphies have the 'best' supporters) absolutely goes nuts at us, but after the game generally we have absolutely no issue with having a beer together.

Purely for the off field side of things the biggest rivalry for as long as these two sides play each other will be Cove v Shiedow, these guys were at war years before they ever looked like playing against each other.
