And the word is the $800,000 salary is based more on marketability and his devilishly good looks than his all round cricket ability....but thats just the word on the street.

Gee that team would be very hard to beat. Would have been good to have everyone available.
I have never seen Nitschke play, but from what i've heard and the stats ive seen, he seems to be a gun.
Its alright dutchy u can be the 12th :P which leaves room for one more spot hmmmm A. Roling perhaps? (not a bias opinion at all haha)

Alright with those guys being out the squad i would have:

Hodson
Loechel
Smith
MacDonald
A Frith (wk)
Marshall (c)
T Roling
A Roling
Holland
Balding
Nitschke

12th: Gully
13th: Spry

Although i dont like the fact Smasha is at 10. But its a pretty well balanced line-up with a lot of all-rounders, strike bowlers, big hitters :D and superstar batsmen. What u reckon to that Smasha?

I'll refrain from picking my 'dream side', coz the facts are that rep cricket is for those who want to compete & improve themselves at the next level. That's what I'm interested in. Never did anything half-arsed myself in regards to rep cricket, so I expect the same from everyone who pulls on a C&CCA shirt & cap. Anything less than 100% effort, the right attitude & a team-first mentality, then don't waste my time. ;)

It's those blokes who'll miss out on the experience, and you only need to speak to the guys that just came back from Sydney whether it was one of their best ever cricketing experiences or not. It's definitely something special, which is why we work so hard to promote it and support it. 8)

PS; thanks for the kind words a few pages back Smasha & Cougs... :-* ;)

to those that want to listen, all I will say to you all about the rep side is ...........
I will put my hand up every time until 1,I phisically cant play anymore 2, someone better than me puts their hand up.
to young harry , dont worry about the baldo batting at 10 mate, I bat at 9 for my own team and I do alright 8)
when I batted at ten for assoc the other week , I only got shirty cause I was not out and the way I see it is if you are not out
then you wasted the opurtunity to smasha  a boundary. herds knows I am a team player  and will bat or bowl wherever the man puts me, even on the bench

Fully agree Smasha, and if I wasn't glued to the scorebook because a certain Iced Coffee addict didn't honour his promise to score, I would've given you the green light to go in a few slots above. ;)

Can never question your efforts mate. I know the young lads loved being around you in the PDCA match. We sure could've done with you in Sydney, especially against NSW A on Day 4 when we were gone for all money, but 50 balls faced from Smasha and we woulda stitched 'em up.. ;) The looks on their cocky faces if it played out like that would've been priceless!

Thats how everyone should be feeling about the association side. I just cant believe people dont want to relish the opportunity to represent their state and play with the best players from your own association. I can tell ya, it was the best experience ive ever had in terms of cricket, and you make so many friends while you're over there. There's no doubt that ill be putting my hand up for the next one and for years to come.
What would have been more sensational Herder...Smasha hitting 25 runs off an over against goat boy. Now that would have been a great day haha.

Funniest 2 occurrences during the NSW A game ;

a) Goat Boy chasing a staffy across Raby #1 Oval (and getting towelled up by the mutt.. )

b) Goat Boy chasing a ball to the fence, slipping and headbutting the pickets - AND on the other side of the fence that he smacked into was a signage board about some company whose logo was a ram with large horns..  (good pick up too, OB..)

Smasha would've done more to him at the motel than 'The Hulk', that's for sure... ;)

Harry it would have been a great day to see smasha smashing Goat Boy around the park, but I kinda wanted to see 'The Hulk' destroying that mouthy tool from NSW 'A' who didn't even play!
