You'll find that's a minority. The majority of locals (me being one who still has to pay subs) are super excited about this potential time of success for our club. It'll still be a lot of hard work but we haven't won an A grade flag in a fair while and the feeling of being a part of that is really exciting.

Yeah we are confident. Not pencilling any appearances as yet but we believe that our time in Central has made the locals better players and more hardened footballers, add to that a captain and coach who are seasoned and excellent footballers, also the recruiting we did last year and now a new influx of high talent which should add to our depth.

Could it be a willunga player that meadows have recruited...? Someone posted that the recruit cane runner up in the 2009 GSFL mail medal and played in a flag... Does brad haskett not fit this description? Would dominate the league if true

Haskett is training at Sturt. Doubt he'd leave Willunga, especially after the coin he was offered in the Hfl last year

Got your posts tangled there mate, it was runner up in the SFL mail medal, which is Wade, the other post just refers to GSFL premiership team

Settle down buddy! I think there are 2 teams that will stop you from even having the chance to win a flag, that being Kersbrook end Echunga.
Kersbrook were a 15 goal better side than you when you left and both sides have improved a bit so i would say you would struggle to get within 10 but time will tell i guess.

Birdwood seam pretty cocky this year that maybe they will be the team to beat but only a couple of years ago they played div 2 and only finished 5th i know they have improved but have they improved as much as teams such as kersbrook who finished higher than them that year. I predict Birdwood to finish 4th or 5th behin Kersbrook Echunga Gum and maybe Meadows which i think is pretty ordinary for a team which pays almost as much as TV

I have to agree KnB they are paying more than any other club in the comp and are talking up their chances so the pressure is on! Only getting about 20 to pre season traing isn't a good start and i heard that a couple of the recruits aren't all that impressed by what they see!

Are Birdwood the New Country Div Torrens Valley. There seems to be a lot of coin coming out of Birdwood way for players. Are they not confident of winning the flag in Country Div with what they've got? If so, seems the only thing they learnt in Hills Central was to spend money

True... one recruit gone from Birdwood already. Not sure if he's told them yet so it'd be unfair to name him.

I've heard the Kangarilla coach has been calling some almost finished if not already retired players from various leagues. I've also heard he's thinking of putting the boots on himself, he'd be at least 40 yrs old. What's happening out there?

I'm hearing the same thing. Also not sure about "the locals learning from their time in central div" because from what i heard they have lost a few locals and a few more to follow

Nothing wrong with seniors pulling on the boots, always keep my bag in the car just in case. ;)
We want Vaughn.

So pf you would know more about the locals at birdwood than someone who has played there his entire life????

Of course you wouldn't name him ats because then that may prove that your post (along with most of your other posts) are in fact fiction. Which is fine because I understand that most of the stuff posted on these forums is made up and are a bit of a laugh sometimes. I just don't understand why people on here post rumours about a "gun recruit" coming to or leaving a club without a name. It seems pointless to me, but thats just my opinion (which I am allowed to have).

As terrible as it is it really does seem like the only way. How can a team that has been so far down for so long ever become competative again. They have been made a mockery on the media again and again and it is becoming really damaging for the HFL brand. Even Port Elliot merged with another team when they began to recieve media attention for the beltings they were recieving.
Make them a C grade club so that the guys can still have a run around, enjoy their footy and probably kick a few more goals.

Get Greg Mullins back as captain coach, playing in the middle, changing at full forward, designated kicker, key tagger, runner, water boy and president

Tehe! That is so funny PM. According to my records Mully turns 40 this year.
