I suppose we wouldn't mind being outplayed by a better side, but we keep getting outplayed by smarter sides as well.

It's easy to sit back and criticise, but sometimes it's justified and the Redbacks situation is one of those times.

We play dumb cricket.

For all the Gloomists
Dont get confused with the different forrmats
Yep SA constantly bloop in 4 day games
Usually dont perform at thier best in 1 day games
But in 20/20 games they are a reasonably good team

Which is probably why the traditionalists don't rate this format as it's too much of a raffle.

not quite a raffle but you are very very close smithy, whoever wins the toss & therefore bats first usually wins the game ;)

Lyon selection - obviously on the back of the truckloads of wickets he has taken in Grade Cricket, plus he is not SA player, so of course he gets selected before Frick, Cullen, Bailey. Absolute disgrace Cox - if we are getting flogged, at least let us get flogged by using local players. Pretty sure you can discard Tait, Manou and Harris and get 3 recruits into the side.

Interesting that Lyon was even considered as T20 form in SACA was ordinary. 4 wickets with at least 10 local spinners ahead of him. (Frick 10. Joraslafsky 9, Tanner 8. Bailey was equal on 4 wickets and Cullen 1 behind).

Not saying the lad did not perform well but how did he even come into calculations and participate in a trial?

Hmm. SACA Talent Manager came to SA last year from ACT

The Mexican wave. Didn't that die out 10 years ago? To the bogans on the hill thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Some bewildering decisions by Klinger/Berry (whoever calls the shots) last night. Pollard only bowling 3 overs? He had the best figures of all the SA bowlers and Klinger gives the ball to Christian in the last over. Pollard batting at 7 and below Manou?????? Should be at 5 or 6, not 7. Highlight of the night was Moises's over that went for 29.

Noticed on the way into the ground that Pollard and Rashid were only getting to the gates at the Bradman Stand less than an hour before the start. On entering the ground I noticed that their team mates and the NSW players were already out on the ground warming up. Luckily Pollard performed. Didn't see much to get excited about with Rashid.

I am obviously mistaken ... i thought the 20 /20 format was aimed at getting people through the gates cause its a FUN concept. Ill be sure to sit on my rug and not say anything saturday night. Old school or not atleast it gets people involved and creates some atmosphere.

Freo, get into it, I hate to say it but the most entertainment I got off this Ashes Series was the Balmies giving it to everyone. 20/20 all about saving the game of cricket and bringing money into the system. Go, enjoy, yell scream, do the wave, give the big V hell, 3 hours of pure entertainment. It is here to stay, buts let not overdo it. Current format outstanding.

Entertainment Mal, and Pollard gave me enough of that for the night to get me back with extras.

it doesnt matter where you sit, enjoy the game or dont go, I sat in the members on wednesday night with my two kids and a couple of mates, we sat right behind the nsw team and my son (9) was telling them that he was a redback supporter mind you my daughter was colouring in but who cares I was yelling and screaming and doing the wave so if you want to go then go and enjoy. will be doing the same on saturday too 8)

No, I was highlighting the point that the wave died 10 years ago, yet in SA it lives, hence why those from interstate call us backwards and behind the times!

I do enjoy watching from the members though ;)
