Question: If the umpire calls the batsman back for what he thinks is a no-ball and it turns out it's a legal delivery, does that cost the batting team a referral?

Exactly, he used a current rule (not one that I particularly agree with) to his advantage...

That's not cheating...

Claiming half volley catches on the other hand ;)

At the time he used it he didn't know it would be to his advantage either .. As for the Hughes catch I haven't seen it, but I've seen plenty of them over the years - Can't recall anyone cheating as blatantly as Steve Rixon one day though

cp i think you have the wrong wicket keeper how does greg 'THE CHEAT' dyer sound ? ;)

EG lead by a million
WATSON clips the ball towards the deep sqaure leg fence
The deep fine leg watched the deep mid wicket field the ball
STRAUSS will captain the 3-1 winning team this series, but his captaincy this test is ordinary at times

Jase, Hughes did not cheat by claiming the catch. It was obvious he thought it was close and than reacted like he did once Clarke celebrated the wicket. Hughes did not know Clarke was blind sighted by the keeper in Haddin. Simple as that

Yeah I know...

I saw his reaction when he jumped up after taking the catch, by the time he had reached the top of his jump you could see his face and it was clear he wasn't sure...

I was just being mischievious, hence the ;)

Sorry :)

Edit: maybe should have been a

PATHETIC cricket (Running) Australia

Under 10's have more basic knowledge about running between the wickets than Watson & Hughes

Both to busy looking at the ball, there was an easy 2 there, and both started for the 2nd but for some reason Hughes stopped, turned and went back, Watto just kept coming.

POOR
Put it this way BAYMAN + MAL with a combined weight of about 230 kilos would have ran 2 EASILY

On top of the laryngital calling, where is the old adage run the first one hard

WATTO 39 [42]
HUGHES 8* [37]
KHAWAMALJA 0*[2]

That was clearly Watson's fault, for a start they didnt run the first hard so it ruled out the 2nd, secondly it was Hughes's call but Watson made it and kept running. Why even look for the second if your not running the first one hard?

Thats the main reason Watson will never be a great player, no feel or nous for the game (at least at Test Match level)
