First Class Cricket Talk (International and State)

Postby GWW » Sun Feb 11, 2007 8:12 pm

Is Elliott contracted for next year? Could be a costly exercise if the SACA has to pay him out as well as Blewett. But in a strict cricket sense if he is contracted surely they'll just have to pay out his contract, they 'backs need to stick with the Borgas lads, Harris and Ben Cameron etc.

Stunning debut.

Very, very exciting to see a 16 y.o make A-grade runs.

A bun for anyone who can recall the last 16 y.o to make a 100 for ND/Salisbury. Would be nice if he can turn out as good as that bloke!

SA 377
QL 9/409
SA 6/326
BORGAS 95 nearly
BOOF 64
COSI 67
ADCOCK 66 what a difference he makes to this team
ELLIOTT 0

SA resumed at 3/159 so amassed 167 in the session to lunch.

BOOF in the press said QL should have declared its first innings when QL passes
the SA 1st innings total
MAHER retialliated saying QL is a man down with HOPES injured
I will defend BOOF on this one
MAHER you are WRONG

WRONG both sides are down to 10 men
QL... HOPES missing with an injured thigh in the game.
SA... HOPELESS he is still in the team.

Looks like it will play out to a draw, I think sometimes too many state Captains wait for the oppostion to keep them in the game by a generous declaration.

I don't know when he made his 1st ton, but he was playing A grade when he was 14.

6/346 declared. Queensland 0/13 from 3 overs. Not sure how many overs to be bowled.

I reckon 324 off about 62 overs
QLD 0/20 [4.4]

And its raining

If they lose 2 hours or about 30 overs the revised target
using the HAWK/MAL system would be

not 324 off 62 overs
but 300 off 32 overs [ harder because TAIT + GILLESPIE would bowl unchanged  ]

Dont worry Hawky it will never happen.

Ive been going to AdeLAIDe oval p/c games and the pitch
is not a spinners paradise any more.
The fast bowlers are taking most of the wickets.
BURDETT makes a different pitch.
we bat better interstate this season[except Perth]

I'm probably being a bit harsh, but with the threat of rain around, why wouldn't Boof just bat out and give Adcock a chance to make 100? When I heard it was raining I contacted a friend in Brisbane who told me it always looked like rain, and that it wasn't going to stop for awhile.
