Sorry for the late news boys but SA won the toss elected to bat and was disappointing in posting just 117 but really dug in with the ball to only go down by 2 wickets was a really good effort by our lads but at the end of the day 117 just wasn't enough :(

SA all out 117 off 44 overs

Hodo 32
Borgas 17
Holland 17
Wrighty 12no

QLD 8/119 off about 35ish

Tyson 5/38 off 8 super effort by a future star of the championships
Holland 2/16 off 8.3 overs
Spry 1/41 off 8 bowled some good areas

 goes for over 5 an over yet bowled good areas? Cant have bowled too many of them! & Went for a 3rd of their runs!

I remember watching the PDCA game a few weeks back and made a comment about the performance to someone and young Spry arked up with "When your good enough to make this side, then you can comment."

Well Pidge...

20 overs, 1 wicket, 102 runs ...

Perhaps its YOU who isn't good enough to be in that side!

Think Jon Smith may be the only player to get an AA cap.

Other dark horses will be Gully and Cossens.

jon smith was the only AA for SA (and was named VC)

gully and cossens were never a chance, cuz would have been the 3rd pick keeper to be honest behind the westerns keeper and the QLD lad.

gully and holland took the same amount of wickets @ about 15 and 13 each but the leading wicket were about 5 ahead of them to.

had tyson made a few more runs he would've been a huge chance for AA

bit harsh to single out a bloke who is still learning the game and also only 3 or 4 pages ago you yourself picked as a possiable AA????

look the way he bowled today with the new ball was very good. he bowled to 2 blokes that were in fair nick and was very unlucky runs through the slips and the like but we needed wickets so he was'nt getting a 3rd man.

another thing you may not realise is phantom its hard for a young lad like pidge to bowl in to the wind every game (except today) when you have blokes GULLY,FRICK,HOLLAND,WRIGHT all opening bowlers for there club sides with the breeze its hard to give everyone the breeze at there back.

all in all you should lay off him as i believe he'll be a massive asset next championships mark my words he just needs some confidence
