Pretty sure they've picked up Tom Hately aswell (former South and Goody Saints key position player). Add Tommy and Ben Warren to the names above and the Creek are starting to put together an impressive list for 2011.[/quote]

You can add another 2 x Glenelg players and a former South player as well.

From what I understand 3 clubs will have 2 extra points to play with next year. Does that mean the 6 points are being subtracted from other clubs totals eg last years premiers with say 12, r/up with 13 etc etc

But i believe money is for the better. Clubs now choose who they recruit because of the points system, not as to who has the most cash. Money gets you good players which hopefully brings success! If you are not worth paying for, then maybe you are too unfit???

ha ha... Clever . Am unfit at the moment yes. But the mind is still sharp.
After playing the GSFL for 9 years and moving up to the city to play, and playing now for a club that doesnt pay any players at all, it is great to see the club do well without the money. The boys that come out do it for the mateship and love, and they all get along like best mates. Most of the lads could quite easily, and have been offered, lots of money else where but dont leave. Says alot about a club I think.

it wont matter what kind of coin they throw around at the creek or what "star" players they recruit, it wont help the creek get a flag, as its shown in the past money doesnt buy premierships. ;)

Unfit, you are kidding yourself.
Your club may or may not pay only you would know that but the SAAFL collectively hasn't been Amateur for years and even when they were supposed to be amateur, there were clubs taking the p155 paying under the table so stop being so self righteous.

You're talking out of your ar5e. Go back to the Div 5 forum where your so successful club has an interest.

What "STAR" players are they/have recruited ?

You're kidding yourself O.F. to suggest money doesn't buy premierships.
EVERY premiership thats been won in the last few decades have cost clubs $$$$
Agree that it takes more than money to win one but would be impossible to win a flag these days without spending anything.

Might just be worth remembering O.F. b4 bagging your neighboring rival club that the Creeks have won MORE 'A' grade premierships than Strath in the last decade.
Willunga 6
L. Creek 2
McClaren 1
Strath 1

Hmm don't know about that. Refer to Victor in the 90's & Willunga in 00's.....

When are you people going to get over the fact Victor had great success. Yes i won't deny there was probably a bit of money getting thrown around but i am very confident it wasn't as much as you may think. Besides, a bit of money isn't going to get the sustained success that they had, clearly they were doing a lot of other things right that the other clubs weren't. And the same can be said for Willunga, look at their team. The core hasn't really changed for the last decade, they've just done some smart recruiting each year to improve the list.

Perhaps any other club that whinges and moans on this forum about the success of those two clubs over these times should concentrate more on getting their clubs some success. The simple fact is if you want quality players at your footy club you may have to pay for them because if you don't another club will.

Don't worry about WoW. He's just fishing for a reaction and perhaps also a little frustrated by his clubs inability to lure Willunga players with vast wads of cash over the years.
