USUAL STORY I HAD TO ELIMINATE MOST RACES

RACE4-2 BELAIR BALE in the powerhouse ROONEY kennel is a dead set non winner

MT79 and I know very little about dog injuries.
What we do know is that 2 different people have mentioned the clay surface
when we were investigating whether injured dogs are properly passed by vets
on race nights.
Clay surfaces may increase the incidence of say wrist injuries but may also
decrease the incidence of other injuries. :?:
ROOBURGER may know a lot more than we do.

well a lot is said about mixed dirt surfaces.
i know a lot depends on dogs training methods eg more work on grass or sand will make a difference.
i'ts very similiar to the telstra dome saga. moving turf versus stable surface.
most dogs will run on most surfaces without worry the only worry is how fit and how well trained they are.
wrist injuries and toe problems are very common, its at what degree you race them and how un- caring you are that tells in the long run.
angle park has ebbs and flows and its usually caused by over racing.
see the reports and check on the amount of racing that dog has done before the injury.

they are not machines

telstra dome was laid on fine grade sand followed by the turf on top. the problem is the turf has not and will not setttle because of the lack of root penetration . coupled with frequent closes of the roof over time short growth and the preceding problem moving sand causes the players to not hit a firm surface. knee and hamstring injuries have occured more than other grounds.
turf has been replaced 3 times in 2 years .
