Plus the obligatory camera coverage of the doors opening with the crush of people waiting to enter the store pouring into David Jones or whatever.

Every year we see this on the news. What do we also see every year?

Yes and I'm not sure why we do keep on hearing about it because I think the greater majority of the population couldn't give a flying f*** if the shops are closed for a few days.

They've stopped doing this in WA because we're not 'backwards' now that we have consumerism on Boxing Day. Seriously, cant people get by without shopping for a couple of days?
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Yep already been out. He had to miss a race meet back in September/Octoberish because of the allegations. Was in the news but the nature of the interest from the police was not mentioned.

Something which comes up in news bulletins from time to time is the umpteenth study into obesity, accompanied by shots of peoples big torsos walking down a mall.

The Media did the story "Mitsubishi rumoured to be in trouble / are closing" that they eventually got their wish, only took about 15 years of constant badgering to get it to happen!
