I've got one of my blackbookers running again today. Opoho Canberra race 3 no8. Up in grade, down in weight, up in distance. Normally runs home ok. Might be worth a few bucks each way.

Went out second favourite, ran 3 wide without cover, and ran second to the favourite.

Jockey didn't really seem to have a good hold of it either mate, think it still had a bit in it but he couldn't press the "go" button at the right time because he was busy trying to get balanced and steer.

I think the horse has been guilty of that on a number of occasions now. Just doesn't seem to want to run in straight lines for some reason!

Jockey gets a big lesson in elegance from favourite
MAX PRESNELL
December 27, 2010

A bet of $1.01 was matched on Triple Elegance with Betfair at the 50 metres in the Randwick Betting Auditorium Handicap yesterday. Often the wail was gone out about a horse being 100/1 on and getting beaten but rarely, if ever before, has proof evolved. Triple Elegance, ridden by Nash Rawiller, was going to justify the odds before doing a dipsy doodle, going sideways and in a couple of strides was downed by Top Drop. ''I gave him three or four [hits with the whip] in a row going to the 100 metres before he gave me the feel he would do better hands and heels,'' Rawiller told Racing NSW stewards. ''Then he started to bludge, I hit him again and he reacted.'' Chief stipe Ray Murrihy mentioned the possibility of the gelding being hit in a ''tender spot'' and the jockey replied that Triple Elegance is ''thin skinned'', limiting target area. Trainer Chris Waller pointed out that Rawiller, a punishing heels rider, ''got his feet back near his flank'' when he put the whip away and this could have been a contributing factor. Either way, stewards took no action. Rawiller warned jockeys handling the mount in future about its antics. ''Ride him on a thread of cotton, don't hit him with the whip and don't use your heels,'' are the likely instructions.

I was on it too and whilst I never cheer til a horse is over the line, I thought it was a done deal .. $4.40 was a decent price that should have earnt me some fair coin.

Whilst I was a bit peeved it was pretty funny watching the punters in the Diva bar that were all on it, they seemed to take it pretty well.

I too thought it had looked like it had a hit a hole in the ground the way it jagged off .. Bloody thing!! lol

I saw one in the Dogs whilst at the pub last year having a few brews with a mate .. Didn't have a bet on the race thankfully, but a short favourite was absolutely streeting the field, must have been only 20 0r 30 yards from home or thereabouts and then just stopped lol, onwe of the most spunout things Id seen - I guess the more you punt the more likely you are to see some weird happenings.

so proud

Just got news from the Stud that Call Centre is 47 days pregnant on the 29/12 so she is well on the way. She will be taken to my property at Jerilderie tomorrow.

There is not much else to tell you from now on until she is getting ready to foal (approx. 13th sept) sometimes they do hold on to them a little bit longer.

No news is good news from here on

Best wishes and happy new year

Cheers
