Personally I much prefer day games (I've got nothing else on during the day usually). One night game a year at Nwd is enough for me.

I will you there Saintal. 6 night games is a bit much for the first year. I like my days games aswell.......will be interesting to see how they go with the crowds.

"The Magpies will also play Sturt as an AFL curtain-raiser on June 5"

Boo! Luckily the Puffs give away that many free tickets to get people through the gates anyway so there may be a remote chance I'd attend

What better way to get the Maggies faithful to a Power game than a Port Norwood clash? and just in time to see us flog WCE :).

What better way to get Power fans into the Maggies than a traditional Port Norwood grudge match?

It is a great way to bring the clubs together and help convert single Power or Maggies members into dual members.

Just sent this e-mail to the SANFL, IF I get a response I will post it here for all to see:

I am a long time Norwood Member and I have missed only 8 matches in 36 years, not bad when I'm 41yo!
I am disgusted by the stupid decision to progamme a Norwood-Port curtain-raiser! Grow a spine and protect your own brand you soft AFL puppets!!! If the average cost for an AFl match is:

$25 per adult (x2)
$ 6 per child (x4)
$12 car park

Then I am up for $86 for one match, NOT including any food or drink!!!

Just when everything is going along nicely, we bend over and take it from the AFL!!!I am VERY angry about this and DEMAND an explanation from you explaining ticketing etc ASAP!!!!!

I have already bought 2 minor round season tickets guaranteeing me entry to ALL Norwood games!!! My 4 kids who are all members range in age from 9 - 13 and are free of charge for SANFL minor rounds!! If I am charged for this match maybe you are selling goods under false advertising and libel to a consumer affairs investigation???

How do we gather as The Sprit or other groups of mates when AAMI is all designated seating??? Will some of the stupid canvas covers be removed and a section for Norwood members/supporters be designated??

Local competition is moving forward in leaps and bounds BUT have taken a backward step on this occassion IMHO!!

I AM NOT IMPRESSED!!!

Merry Xmas to Kermit and friends!!

Having the Magpies play before the Power is a joke. There will be 20,000 people going for one team and hardly anyone for the other team. Stuff like this is what I feared with 'One' Port Adelaide. No advantage to the Magpies huh

The worst part about those curtain raisers is that the cost of an SANFL Grand Final ticket will be be cheaper than the cost of a seat at AAMI Stadium for these matches.

I'm glad Centrals didn't cop one of these curtain raisers but I can understand the anger of the supporters affected.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

I'd say there would have to be some financial benefits for Norwood and Sturt but still sux for the supporters no matter how you look at this.

I'd be pretty p*ssed off too if I was a legs' supporter, especially given it'll be the first game of the year.

Playing at noon in front of a sparse FP crowd isn't ideal...

well said fester. i remember the last time sturt played a curtain raiser for an afl game and all supporters were charge entry price for an AFL game NOT SANFL. Our competition has been going strongly over the last few years, lets now make it go backwards. Playing a curtain raiser game is pathetic. There will be at least over an hour between games and who will stay and watch the second game.

Port and Norwood have never been a fixture together in a curtain raiser (no surprise there).
