Hey Brocky. Mawson Lakes havent had a hit out yet but looking forward to next year. Are North Pines joining Divy 7 again next year Brocky? If so i hope that player that was badly injured against us a couple of years ago is back playing. If anyone seriously thinks were paying players is crazy. Who do you think we would pay. Ive played there for nothing for my whole life and so have my teamates.

Hi Milly, im not sure if Pines are coming back into this grade. I have been away for the last couple of years and just got back. Im looking at maybe going back or heading out to Mawson Lakes.

Mate more than welcome to join the boys. Got a great coach in Geoff Riddle and have a couple of ex North Pines blokes out in Shane Stanley and Greg Moore who are champion blokes to.

I know its probably a little early but when is everyone back in training in the new year and also are there any early year trial games like the Brahma Lodge pre-season games of the last couple of years?
Im sure they would appreciate the compliments Milly.

So the only clubs that are definitely paying players in 2011 (admittedly based on innuendo, gossip and rumour) are Mawson Lakes and Glenunga.

Even if North Pines and Ovingham come in and replace some C Grade sides I doubt they will be paying players either.

Whilst I think DKL was perhaps a bit terse with his response, he is right that paying players in Div 7 is probably out of the ordinary.

Not sure where you got your info on ML, but it's false. Unless you count a playing Assistant Coach as a paid player?

But we do pay the Riddler to keep up his fashion sense for the ladies of Adelaide.
No worries. So we're down to Glenunga and perhaps Angle Vale as the only two teams in this div openly paying players?

To be completely honest had Mark E & Chad not implemented the payment scheme at the start of the 2010 season, Glenunga would be a one club team and probably a season of two after that folded. At the end of the 2008 season, the Glenunga players stocks was raped as was shown in 2009 with our B grade often playing between 13 - 16 players. (Sometimes stocked with guys also playing A grade)

So yes the club could have become a single side club and spent the next few years trying to rebuild and while people may view any payment to players in Div 7 as a waste of money, it succeeded as in 2010 we were able to attract some new blood to the club (other than Chad and friends), and this season some of these players are taking on more responsibilities and becoming club men.

But the boys only get paid when they win.. and even then I think they should have to shout a 'B' grader a drink :P

Just thought I would take a little time to wish everyone that I may have played with or against (although not too many games this year due to injury) a Safe and Merry Christmas.

Can't believe this just slides by. Of course O'Gorman is a paid player. And rightly so.

Not saying a word, thats not my place. I'm not even going to say what we did was best option or a smart long time option as I was not serving on the committee when this decision was made, but the club and the committee made the decision that was needed for the longevity of the club

But these things happen in football, give it a few years and It will more than likely happen to us again, but hopefully by then our juniors will be ready to take the jump, so we might not need to resort to the player incentive scheme type of system.

As a B grader I play for the fun of the sport and to kick goals on my cousin/friends :D

Yep and i know who one of them were! The thing is having had family members involved in high levels positions at clubs its included in the players contract the its between themselves and the club and the only people that know at the club is the A grade coach and the person who does the contract negotiations, trouble will start if the players let word out of what they get paid and much. People can assume all they like but as long as your one of two people i metionted most people wouldnt have a clue who and what players get paid, its all based on assumption.
