Brown has zero chance
as gunnerson pointed out... 114 runs and 9 wickets... zero chance...
you might be a chance tho.
That saved me getting a post deleted, what do you put your start to the season down to? Just bad form or the transition to hard wicket? I would of thought every batsmen likes the ball coming on, or is it the extra bounce?
Footwork required for the length of the delivery is different on hard wicket.
Far more front foot stuff going on on turf, where as the same delivery on hard wicket can be played off the back foot.
With the brain trained to react quickly to what length is bowled, retraining it for the different surface can take some time.
IE. This is my excuse.
Definitely easier to go from hard-wicket to turf instead of the other way 'round.

When I first started playing in C&CCA (SACCA back then), my first 4 scores were 0, 1, 5 & 4 - and the last game prior to commencing in C&CCA was in the B's at Port..

Got dropped to the B's of my C&CCA club after those 4 matches and I'd fair dinkum thought I'd lost my ability! Got a 70 in the Div 1 semi (gozzer in the GF) and turned the corner. Racked up 600+ the 2nd season with 3 tons.
But it was a matter of reviewing what shots I could play on hard wicket vs what I was used to on turf. Driving on the up or off the back foot was ruled out. Cut shots I also removed from my shot selection until I was well set. Drives to full balls and pull & hook shots to shorter deliveries became my main scoring shots.
Enjoy it now, coz when Oz' refamiliarises himself with the concrete stuff, there'll be some shattered bowlers trotting around in PDCA with some pretty ordinary figures..
