Any truth to the rumour Collins has earmarked a key defensive post for Fisher? With Fergurson and Fisher they'll be nearly impassable in defence.

The defence is the least of our worries. At full strength we line up like the following:

Steve Morris Jarrod Silvestor Scott Bricknell
Ben Fisher Adam Hartlett Ryan Ferguson

That would be up their with the best. It's the rest of the ground where we are found wanting.

I can see Fisher playing at CHF with Willits FF and Ryan Bennett as the 3rd tall where he should be.

Why then does Collins persist with his ultra defensive gameplan? Is he just stubborn or doesn't he really trust his back six?

Don't know really. But at a guess he is trying to play like the AFL but the skills are just not there and they turn it over coming out which in turn allows more to flood back. Really need to up the skill level!

Good back 6 mate, if you can keep fit bodies you would think it allows even more freedom to send Ferguson forward .. All of a sudden if you can have a forward line that includes both Ferguson and Fisher it adds a lot more potency

Added to the back 6 is Carter, returning from Collingwood. Our problem is keeping them on the park all year, Ferg only played 9 games and Hartlett plays 1 or 2 then misses 3 or 4. I think Ferg will play CHF this year.
