Too right NFC.
IF batsman get dropped, they go to shield cricket to find some form.
Mitch gets a 2 week break and a net session with Lillee...............PLEASE.

If MITCH gets carted this game I'm starting up a facebook page to sack Hilditch, unless Hilditch can convince me otherwise by having a press conference where he moves his top lip. :D .

Cameron and Copeland should've been the INS IMO.

MJ half century
Hey boys when you are 1-0 down in a series you gotta pick matchwinners
MJ can be a matchloser as well, but ya gotta play him

Greg apparantly stated that mitch was not dropped just rested in adelaide. He also stated that even before the series started that they had planned to rest johnson in adelaide. So my question is what if johnson had got a 5 or 6 fa in brisbane, would they have still rested him?
Just shows the selectors have NFI.
Ps id try khawaja opening

So far the MJ resting has worked !!!!!!

What's this "resting players" crap? Resting Johnson from WHAT??? Since when did we start resting players in an ASHES series? I'd like to ask Chappell if resting Dennis Lillee or Jeff Thomson in Test 2 of an Ashes series would have sat well with him as captain. I am willing to bet it wouldn't.

In the Ashes, you play your BEST team in EVERY Test. Seriously, Chappell worries me. He did a crap job as Redbacks coach, in India he had the people burning effigies and wanting to kill him ... to be honest, his post-playing record hasn't been all that flash.

So far as I'm concerned, from the moment he ordered brother Trevor to bowl that underarm ball, he should have walked away from the game and stayed there. Ian is the cricket brain in that family, and he wastes it behind a microphone.

Lets see how he bowls before declaring this move a winner.

Is batting well though, I'll give him that, but he's in the side to bowl teams over.

I know conditions are differant but i love it when tailenders show more spine than the specialist batsmen.

The worst new ball bowling I think I've ever seen.

Hilf= rubbish, this guy is so overrated, not a wicket tacker, and not as 'tidy' as you'd expect.

Harris= overrated big time, his spell today brought me to tears, of agony.

Siddle= right arm poo started with 2 wild almost wides down leg side, what a bowler.

And here comes MJ, this ought to be fun.

Johnson showed some promise in his 2 overs, should have had Strauss out too.

Harris was just delporable, can't believe how bad he bowled. Hilf's first over was good, after that he was terrible. The guy is absolutely useless if he can't get swing, and his 3-4-5 overs today or however many he bowled, were so, so bad. That's not the spell of our new ball bowler.

Siddle's rubbish, I'm convinced he's no good at all. Hat trick or not, he's just average.

they also went on to say that greg said hed much prefer mitch to be bowling in the nets @ ponting & clarke rather than the shield game as there were no international players playing that game, which a comment followed of sounds like the selectors dont have any faith in the next up & coming stars

ok so if Mitch was bowling in the shield games on that theory he wouldve taken 20 wickets in the game, as the batsmen are no good .......apparently

Using that logic MAL - North would still be in the side.
Your theory involves selecting inconsistency.
We need players who WILL perform and immediately

Spot on HAWK - And this is the 1st that anyone has mentioned it here that MJ was "rested".
Just a blatant lie IMO and as you stated, you wouldn't rest someone in the 2nd test of an ashes series.

As far as the selectors go, I'm a bit worried there may be some confusion as to who is running the show.
The full time employee or the chairman of selectors.

As far as Chappell as a COACH goes............his record is VERY ordinary.
As a selector he has a good track record of promoting talented youth.
Unless he's totally lost the plot I'd be expecting the same once Hilditch hopefully loses his lower lip and can no longer talk.
