Don't have much choice if you lose the toss and get put in... unless we can ask them to toss the coin again - best out of three...

Yep, that's correct -it's a bit hard to make out in the reduced size.

Clarke?!? WTF!
The shift to 4 has not worked. Can't face a new pill.
Khawaja 3, Huss 4, Clarke 5, Ponting 6
... with Ferg ready to go if ponting or clarke don't start making runs

Worst shot of the summer!
Rex Hunt would have been proud of it though.

he has been playing that sort of shot when trying to play a pull shot also. instead of trying to dab it for one or two, hit the living 5hit out of it. i would rather see him get out going for it that playing a stupid shot like that

Hurts to say it but you have to admire the way england have playe so far in the first 10 days and 1 hr of this session.

1. Good plans
2. Confident body language
3. Well led by Strauss
4. They bowl good areas - take note Siddle
5. Positive footwork when batting allows for good shotmaking.
6. They bat and bowl in partnerships.

As I said it is painfull to admit it but you have to respect the quality of England's cricket.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Hughes is carp, he hasn't even been making consistent runs in the shield!!

There must be another opening option that doesn't come from NSW

Ambays the "take not siddle" is a bad call IMO. In Adelaide he had three back on the pull shot, where else is he meant to bowl! I think the captain and team planning is more to blame. If you said Johnson I would have Agreed

His technique doesn’t allow him to be effective in Test cricket, sure he had a good first series but his deficiencies are to great and teams easily work him out.... forget him as an option for future years.... NEXT

Observing Ponting in this series, he has got his feet well outside off syump and been caught behind a number of times.... i cant remember him doing this in previous years when he was hitting the ball well... is he doing this on purpose? the ball he played at he would have left if he wasnt so far across off stump IMO

Couldn't agree more. A half tracker outside off and he timidly tries to fend it away.
either let it go or back yourself and throw the kitchen sink at it!

I reckon he is really struggling mentally this summer, because the Clarkey we know and love would have brutally despatched that pie to the fence and backed up for more! Instead, he is out to a guy who hasn't played a test in three years.

Steve Smith to be the hero in this game! Will prove today why he is easily ahead of ferguson. Well I hope so anyway because iv been defending him on here for a while. If he can get a gritty 50-100, unlike Marcus North than it would be extremely helpful
