A Grade Tod River batted first and only made 91, tasmans passed it roughly 6 down i think with about 5 overs left
B Grade Tasmans made 135, Harry Miller with 49 Wes Bilney 35, Tod River could only get 8 for 108 off 20 overs in reply

From what I heard the PLFL is in financial ruin and we will be lucky to have a league by 2015 unless something is done very soon. No one stood for the positions so Malcolm Harris will be stand in president.

What are your thoughts media park or coyote ugly.

Do the PLFL think that putting up the gate prices will fix the problem? How about looking at some of the stupid spending over the last year.... $20,000 to an architect for plans that wont happen and $20,000 for the fruitless KI trip that meant absolutly nothing.

Not sure that I agree with everything you said mate.

True, No-one applied for the positions of President or Assistant Secretary, although Gordon Nicholls nominated verbally, and was appointed Treasurer for next season, reprising the role he had on the league for about a decade.

I don't think the league would fold under any circumstances- People like yourself and KWF obviously care enough about the issue to bring it up, so perhaps you guys might be keen on filling those positions- either yourselves, or sniffing a couple of people out of the woodwork... You wouldn't have to sniff much further than this forum IIRC.

And KI, I think, personally, that that was money well spent, and I certainly hope it continues- couldn't happen every year, but what an exciting trip for a young country footballer to make, and they repay in kind by coming over for the Mortlock Shield, and filling up the coffers of local bars/hotels/etc...

the league is financially ok but trying to find someone to lead it and put up with the BS
is another issue.
Particularly when particular clubs call you biased and racist, who would want to?

anyone know where the rest of the money from the league went,
there was a fairly reasonable sponsorship deal done with Maccas
which should have added to the coffers.

I think the figures have been botched for years. Buy hey, uping the gate prices will fix that

KWF, I believe new tops were purchased for one of the junior rep sides, I think it was under 15.

Not going to take the entire amount of sponsorship, but there goes a chunk.

match fixing reached a new level yesterday at the WACA the ACB needs
to step in and do something about it !
Its got so bad the Indians and Paki's bookmakers wont want a bar
of us.
Great when the bowlers make more runs than the top order.
Bring back Shane and get Liz out there as well at least it would be worth watching

I have to agree panther ..... thanks MP .... but no thanks.

Thinking outside the square, why couldn't we 'employ' a president?? Maybe offer $10-$15k pa. This might spark some interest from an old footballer who has retired from work and could do with a bit of extra cash.

We could also include in his contract that they need to 'raise' their own wage by bringing in new sponsorship (or other income). Maybe offer bonus' s for higher profits etc etc. I've seen the leagues financial details and i believe they could make a lot more money than they presently do. (and that would include leaving the admission price alone).

If the position was a 'paid' role, the accountability would be a lot greater and perhaps the leagues financial details would be more transparent.
