I saw this and did a bit of asking around and it turns out Clyde Rigney has been appointed assistant coach of the A grade for us.

And apparently there have been a couple of big signings for the Tailem Bend Football Club in Nick Wark and Jake Bowen from the Sturt Football Club.

If true, both would be 4 pointers, wouldn't leave a lot of points for other recruits.

Interesting to see Ben Dougall from Ramblers made his SA cricket debut in the one dayer against NSW this weekend. I wonder if this will not make it more difficult for him to play footy next season, as i presume it has for James Smith at Mannum with him being a semi regular for SA the last couple of years.

I would imagine once they get a senior contract its pretty much off the agenda.... Footballers playing cricket in the off season is one thing (not too much chance of serious injury) but cricketers playing football would be a big no no I would think....

Iam relatively new to this site and have watched some games in nefl barossa league last season. Seems to be a lot of talk and changes going around. Who is the Kennedy being referred to on the site and also is that the Trewin that played for the Saints that has been mentioned going to the RMFL league. Talking about the Saints who is coaching out there next season any news of recruits as think from couple games i saw last year they will need some. Does anyone know when the BLG season kicks off yet perhaps bit early for that question.

You will have to check on the BLG thread, 3rd umpire, re those questions.

I dont think many leagues have released their fixtures yet.

Spot on Mr Willy. Cant understand why he was playing footy last year. Surely someone with his talents with the bat and ball would be better served even heading to England and playing some county or lower level cricket. The risk to injury in football would be far too high, fair enough he got through the season and won a flag but probably not the way i would have done it

Bowen & Wark won't be playing at Blackwood, they've both signed at Tailem Bend.

Anyone confirm or deny this from the Hills Cental Thread???

There was also a bit of talk about that on this thread a week or so ago too, so sounds like there could be some truth to it, but this is the season for rumours, so we may not find out til the clearances are updated in a couple of months.

They wouldn't come cheap, but i'd imagine they'd be pretty handy in the RMFL, especially Wark.

And no J Taylor from South Adelaide. Where's 151 when you need him?

Very interesting as the rumour has it Mannum would be out of points before recruiting these players. So either they have had to move some of last years players on or there are going to be a few points players rotating through the reserves. Can anyone shed any light on this matter.
