I remember that game i was captain of Enfield A grade, :( we were well in control, had NEK on the ropes.. enter A. Balding :( thought we were a chance early but you destroyed us, and as you can see didnt win by much! AND yes Gully is the only one who looked like getting you out.

Smasha also got me out for stuff all!!

Gully made a quick 25, went to town on Gorksi who thought he would bounce him out :P

your thinking of the wrong game mate..you didn't play in this one  the one your thinking about is the game played at Terama where i opened the batting and made 48..Gorski had a new ball in his hand and all he was bowling me was short ball after short ball

But the question i cant answer was why werent you playing in the Semi if you played in the earlier game in the year????

To all those in the association side (or would like to be) who are playing for their clubs in a lower grade than Div 1, please consider changing clubs (not a recruitment drive for NEK here) so that you can play more cricket at a higher level. Gully, Dutchy etc. You are good solid cricketers who need to be and deserve to be playing Div 1 cricket.

Goat, sorry to hear there was no support on the day from the exec, a disgrace in all honesty considering the amount of work you and the players put into these games. Rest assured they will be on the plane to Sydney with you though! wouldn't miss the chance to have a cheap holiday!

Haha i said pretty much the same thing to goatie at changeover of innings.....i got a death stare and sharp "thats no ******* excuse" so i left him alone......when i offered to go get tea he said he needed a drive to chill out. Dont rekon goatie enjoyed y'day too much.

Hope you realise goatie there are plenty of people who'll back ya and help out and not just SAFNFA members. The pres at Fitzies, Magpies96, always pushes association games, trainings etc and if you ever need some assistance just ask mate and the word will get put out.

On a brighter note, one of the Roys lads, Joe, had an esky FULL of food. He had every food group covered three times over. I think he put heather to shame with the smorgasboard he had available. Hopefully he makes some runs and gets an A grade gig.

Haha! Appreciated the offer mate, I really did. I realise we went in with a young team and absolutely anything could've happened on the day, but you can only hide behind inexperience for so long, and to a certain extent. Swiping at balls you don't have to play at like a mad tennis player amid a plague of locusts isn't 'inexperienced'. It's poor cricket. Getting out like Superbad did is excuseable on that deck with a new ball. Some of the other dismissals showed a lack of application more than anything, and that's what's inexcuseable. But we've done this to death now. We've got bigger fish to fry in less than 2wks now and it was a massive learning curve for all concerned..

Yea my shot was pretty poor. It was probably the correct shot but it wasnt correct technique if that makes sense. Oh well something to work on in the next couple of weeks to get to the top of my game.
But yea it was definitely good learning curve for all of us, and a good indication of where we are all at and what we need to improve on. So its not all doom and gloom for us

Things like that happen in cricket. Like PV getting rolled for 58 last match. Like Fitzy's total in the GF last year. Sometimes you have days like that.

We could've won the toss and barrelled through PDCA like they did to us and cruised to a win, but it would've glossed over some gaps that need addressing. They say you learn far more from a loss than a win, and at the end of the day, that's what we take out of it. ;)
