I'm home now...

The operation was a success although the surgeon said the medial tear was worse than first thought and as well as reconstructing the ACL he had to stitch up the medial a fair bit as well !!!

Bloody sore I tell ya, but with my leg up on the couch and with icing and some pain killers, I'll be fine I think...

Glad to be home and looking forward to good night sleep...

Well, the good news is all SANFL player / coach movements, along with all draftees and mini-draft updates are spot on so you can log off and start pushing out some zzzz's in la-la land.

Big Phil. Just a reminder.... DO YOUR REHAB RELIGIOUSLY... I was pretty slack with mine and have booked in today for operation number 6 on my left knee ...

Hey Jase,

The first couple of days I was just resting with icing and elevation along with the basic stretch excercises to keep blood flow happening...

Had a bit of a hiccup this afternoon trying to get out of the shower (bloody shower over bath  ) and it felt like I did some damage to my hamstring that was used for the ACL reco.

Will ice it up tomorrow and do my basic strecth excercises...

What other things should I or do you recommend I should be doing, I had the op on Monday just gone...

Big Fella...

I did my left knee in '96 as a 22 year old... I went to the Physio once and never went back (young know all but really quite stupid)... when I did my right knee in 2007, I was a lot older and more sensible and made sure I did exactly what the physio said to do...

The only thing I can advise (not being an surgeon or physio) is listen to the experts and do exactly as they say... it can hurt a lot and seem like your not getting anywhere but just trust them... Make sure you do all the stretches your given etc. I'm assuming that you are required to get your leg as straight as you can as soon as you can... this is vital... I still can't straighten my leg fully and walk with a constant (ahem) limp... :)

Take care of yourself mate...

Good to hear the big man was back on the golf course for the first time since the injury, bit rustier than tiger woods. Shouldnt be long until he is back dominating the boards on a weds night.

Ha ha ha, nice one Stampy, I'll pay that one

Yes, Stampy, after drinking a full bottle of red of Good Friday and getting hammered, there was some wood used as well as some nailing going on over the Easter break ;)

And thanks Beef, the knee pulled up pretty sore from golf, but with a fractured ankle yourself, it will be a while still before we see you dominating again in SAAFL Div4R and on the social basketball courts of metro Adelaide ;)
