seriously? I can't believe anyone would think a supermarket takes travellers cheques.

Every time I've used them in any shop I always ask if they're accepted when I first walk in...if nothing else it saves embarrassment later.

Insurance and funeral plan commercials on PAY TV.

They're pretty cheery on free-to-air also . Particularly the funeral plans, with families sitting around happily chatting about it as the kids play outside.

I don't mind the insurance ones quite so much. "The Gruen Transfer" had a great episode late in this season, analysing many different companies, and from chatting to someone who worked for a very well known company in SA that had a very visible TV campaign for some years with a very "visible" character, apparently the recall factor for many of these ads is much higher than most other products.
