Where you get off calling someone a retard?

I know all the guys selected in that side to be good guys, who are very clear on their place in the cricketing world, and set foot on that turf today with anything but the warped perception of their own talent that you speak of. They know their chances in matches like this, and yet they still show up and do their best, and continue to show up and do their best. I could never be ashamed of blokes with these attributes.

I would, however, be very ashamed of loud mouth armchair critics with no credibility like you seem demonstrate on this forum.

Oh dear you cut me deep sorry if i tell you as i see it! The blokes can be as good a blokes as they like, im not doubting or disputing they are! But being a "good bloke" can only get you so far and it doesnt win games of cricket... batting more than 2 overs, bowling good areas and taking catches wins matches.

As for doing their best? Well if today was their best then church cricket is in a very sad state! I have little to no doubt that at least half the blokes DID NOT give their best, did not apply themselves and in turn let THEMSELVES and their TEAM down.

Stop being such a nancy, this isnt u/14s cricket, its not about nice guys and trying best, you want to put your hand up and have a crack at playing at a better level you sure as hell better turn up to play!

You can be as ashamed as you like of people like me, just because i tell people where they go wrong, where they could improve or telling them what i think instead of rubbing them on the back and telling them i love them even, that they are good guys and im proud of them!

Yes Shaun Holland was very average today! Seems he is all talk and hot air, talking up a big Sunday arvo at the pub until the wife showed up and he was like a little boy scared of his mums backlash!

talk and hot air hmmm not sure where that comes from and i'm led to believe he got a very good ball today that cut away from him edging to 2nd slip so that stupid picture you put up doesnt really count for much now does it???

and he bowled rubbish hmmm were you at the game today or were you watching something else???

look the game as a hole was dissapointing from a churches point of veiw no doubt BUT it was a huge toss to win and PDCA won and chose to bowl (on that deck anyone would trust me) the ball was doing all sorts early but again being bowled out for 53 just isnt good enough and the thats the bottom line.

also after being bolwed out for 53 it wouldve been quite easy to just roll over and let PDCA run away with the win but to churches credit we rallyed and bowled very well i thought all our bowlers yes phantom/rockstar ALL of our bowlers bowled well as the score suggests there was still a bit in it when PDCA batted being 3 for 20odd after 20 overs but when it dryed out a bit they had the chance to knuckle down and get the win 3 down.

well done to the PDCA on the win well deserved, to our younger lads dont listen to people who are very quick to sh!t can blokes on a forum its great to see young blokes coming through stick with it lads results will come our way.

PHANTOM, I think you have forgotten the main reason why anyone should play at all, FUN, that's what it should be about, yes from what I have heard the Churches mob didn't have a great day, oh well, you make it out to be the end of the world, but far as I'm concerned, bad day yes but move on, your quick to take the pi$ out of every tom dick and harry, wake up, its Churches cricket or in your case Para Districts, WOW, don't be so critical, you want to critique someone, have a crack at every member the Australian side, we are not paid to play, stop trying to take all the fun that we have playing with our mates, good days and bad!!

Phantom, I didn't umbrage to your critcisms of the team's performance today, I was annoyed that you said these blokes think they're big fish and they know nothing about the cricket world.

I challenge your credibility not in regards to passing comment on cricketing ability, rather, I think you are not qualified to comment on how full of themselves blokes are, when you clearly are yourself.

Mate perhaps you misinterpreted what i wrote? I wasn't saying these blokes think they are big fish and know nothing abt cricket! Nor did i say they were (or at least didnt mean to imply) full of themselves! I merely meant that i think these assoc matches show just how much a jump in standard other cricket it. Its easy for people to get comfortable in a standard and lose perception of things.

Mate you talk rubbish! Its not the end of the world i never said it was, so what if i gave my opinions and view on the game today! If you dont like it deal with it!

Yeah cricket should be played for enjoyment and fun but when you start going up through levels and challenging yourself "having fun" or "being a nice guy" doesnt cut the mustard!! Your representing your association, and for many of these blokes they will go away to play in the nationals and represent SOUTH AUST!

All i'll say is meh who cares the result. Honestly what do these SAMCA matches count for anymore anyway? At the end of the day i personally seen this game as a warm up preparation for the side to Sydney, for a chance for the fringe players (Spry, Sandford) to step up and show something out make it hard for the Herder to overlook them.
And to me both Spry and Sandford did enough to warrant a ticket to Sydney in my opinion!

The side was young in general and i think they showed through. Conditions weren't favorable early either, def a toss that needed to be won and a clear lack of experience in those conditions shone through.

Thought the bowlers battled well to make something of a game of it, and grabbing 3 wickets was a decent effort.

This blokes need to take the experience, learn from it, work on what ever they need to and grow closer as a team if they want to be successfull in Sydney.
