I was informed about some disgusting behaviour by the players from the Adelaide Cavaliers in a section 7 game versus Shiedow Park. I was told that during the first week when they were fielding and there were lbw decisions not given they would come up to the umpire and abuse him to his face, even on one occasion laying a hip and shoulder.

Then in the second week when the game was close at the end, one of Shiedow Park under 15's players that was playing let some runs through the field, and he got abused for a solid 10 minutes, There was even a confrontation after the game between the parents of the junior and a Cavaliers player.

Adelaide Cavelairs suprise suprise. Biggest bunch of cheats an no hopers I ever played against. Year after year 'qualify' for the finals but with an impartial ump they'd get rolled every time.

Nearly Xmas and at least 8 teams still mathematically in it. Add that to some unexpected results last week and it is very interesting.

It was drawn on Tuesday night.

Plympton are at home against the winner of Ramblers and Belair

Cove play the winner of ICc and Sheidow.

Tuesday 7th December!

I think the association has stuffed up by not enforcing the games to be played by then. They should have been tossing the coin at the meeting.

Correct!

Why did all the other clubs bother getting thier games done on time?

Jesus ASCA, some of the supporters of this comp have backed you in, even when others continue to bag the comp and its "rules" and call it time and time again "mickey mouse". Now, you had a chance to show that you are serious with your stance on the comp and it seems you have filed the test. So i guess it is mickey mouse then.

Forfiet this round if other clubs cannot get thier act together- Plympton v Cove final.

Couldn't agree more. Belair are a good bunch of blokes so we have delayed the game for them, but the assoc shouldn't allow it IMO. Just because not enough players want to play or arn't available on a particular date isn't a good enough reason.

For anyone interested (ie Plympton boys) Ramblers v Belair is on Sunday from 12pm at Hawthorndene.

Yep, i completely agree. Us and Cove only had one day to play. Simply because the game before they didnt play on time so they bit into one of our weeks. The following week was "too soon", and then they couldnt play the last sunday because of a club function. The left only one sunday to be played. We did it because we were under the impression it had to be played before the next meeting.

I understand Sheidow played numerous games in the other comp on Sundays, but im sorry, you knew what you were getting yourselves into and therefore should have had it done in time. Part of the reason we didnt go in that comp is because we didnt want to play so many sundays close together. If we knew we could get such scope to change the rules, we may have played in that comp.

I mentioned to John Voyzey (who runs the comp IIRC) that next year, there should be a fee of some sort (i suggested $100), IMO it should be round robin (play 3 games each), have set dates by the association, with no scope to move (club functions to be organised around the t20s), and umpires to be organised with plenty of time up their sleeves for all games. Couldnt be that hard could it?? the only problem would be the lack of organisation by SAMCA and announcing dates for their games, but could easily be worked around.

I agree with you on entry fee, and set dates at the start of the year, all you have to do then is fill in the blanks (clubs). There should also be a rule that if you fail to field a side (forfeit) then you automatically get ruled out of the next years comp. eg south road.

Also, one asthetic thing that means absolutely bugger all, but may add to the idea of it being "micky mouse", the last year that i was on the pfcc committee and going to the assoc meetings they were pulling out scap bits of paper that had been hastily written that were thrown into the first box they could find (which happened to be a banged up beer carton) = looked shit. Why don't they get a proper box and some club marbles made up, or one of those little lotto barrels. Makes it look as if they were serious about the comp, instead of something that looks like it was organised at a backyard bbq after a skin full of piss.

Sometimes little asthetic things like that make a bit of a difference in peoples perception of how professional something is.
